Hello Families,

As we reflect on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I am reminded of the amazing community we have here at Pembroke and the power we have to spread kindness and generosity each day. Last week our students celebrated MLK day with a silent march. It is was incredible to see students walking the halls silently with messages of hope, kindness, and peace. Afterward, Mrs. McDonald led students in singing Stevie Wonder’s Happy Birthday song. All classrooms also packed Snack Pax for those in need in our community. It was great to see students embracing the ways they can be leaders at Pembroke and beyond.

We are excited to be hosting Kindergarten Round Up this Wednesday. We will have tours beginning at 6:30 pm and a presentation beginning at 7:00 pm. If you know of any families that are interested, we would love to meet them, please pass the invite along. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

As the weather changes and is getting wetter and colder, here are a few friendly reminders!

  • ·Label, label, label! Label every jacket, hat, glove, and mitten! We can easily empty out our lost and found if we know who it belongs to.
  • We go to play outside unless it is below 10 degrees (including wind chill) so please send your child with cold-weather items suited for the temperature.
  • When there is snow on the ground students need boots and snow pants in order to play on the field and playground equipment.

Parking Lot Reminders Parking Lot Reminders

We appreciate your support in keeping all of our students, staff, and families safe during arrival and dismissal. Please see the reminders below regarding our arrival and dismissal procedures.

  • If your child needs assitance getting out of the car, we ask that you park in a spot and walk your child to the building. Please do not get out of your car in the drop off line as it creates a back-up in the drop off line.
  • We ask that families pull as far forward as possible before letting students out of the car.
  • If you are parking at pick-up, it is helpful if you pull around the lot and fill the spots closest to the front first.
  • If possible, after you have dropped off your students, pulling forward and merging towards the front of line is also helpful in keeping the flow of traffic moving.

Thank you in advanced!
