Happy September (and almost Fall), Cardinal Families!
The year is off to a strong start.. thank you for all the energy (and patience) you’ve brought to the new year. Here are this month’s updates and reminders hits to keep everyone on pace and in the loop.
Academic Progress Check
By now, students should be about 20% complete in each of their classes.
-
Grades 6–12: On the Progress page, students should be Blue or Green (on pace or ahead).
-
Grades K–5: Students should be at pace or ahead based on their learning plans and teacher check-ins.
If you’re seeing something other than Blue/Green (or “at pace”), that’s our cue to adjust routines, reach out to teachers, and use class time wisely. We’re here to help—progress is a team sport!
Extra Support for Students
AirTutors Online Tutoring is now available through the Clever app! Students can log in anytime they need some extra help.
Our Student Success Center is open Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Drop in for a quiet space, support, or just to get back on track.
Quick Reminders 🗓️
-
Weekly teacher meetings are essential—please keep those appointments.
-
If your student is falling behind, reach out early so we can support a comeback plan.
-
Keep an eye on messages from teachers for tips, deadlines, and resources.
-
Daily and/or weekly class meetings are a big part of student learning. This is the time to connect with classmates, share ideas, and build our online community.
Thank You: Back to School Science Night
Huge thanks to every family who came out for our Back to School Science Night! It was incredible seeing our campus buzzing with curious minds and messy hands. Highlights included:
-
Making ice cream (science tastes better when it’s cold 🍨)
-
Dissolving “styrofoam” (RIP foam cup)
-
Slime labs (the good kind of goo)
-
Flying objects—hoop gliders, paper plate planes, and rubber band helicopters
-
Circuits & light-ups (shockingly fun)
-
Pattern Block designs (geometry + creativity = masterpieces)
-
Leaf rubbing art (nature meets science)
-
StarLab planetarium (a trip through the stars without leaving campus ✨)
We loved having you on campus—thank you for building community with us!
Community Event: Tracy Connects
Looking for weekend fun? Join the city-wide celebration:
Tracy Connects
Saturday, Sept 6 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Lincoln Park
Free food and fun for the whole family.
Stop by, connect with local programs, and enjoy a day out together!
As always, thank you for your partnership. Together, we’ll keep our Cardinals soaring—preferably like the hoop gliders, not the paper plates on windy days.
With appreciation,
