Principal's Notes
The Cole School teachers and staff loved the book themed Teacher Appreciation Week and School Nurse Appreciation Day with book trivia, bookmarks, a taco truck, and blind dates with a book. We could not have pulled it together without the help and donations from the Cole School families. Thank you for helping us recognize our phenomenal teaching staff who go above and beyond in so many ways each and every day!
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Katie Busk to Cole School as the next assistant principal. This will be Katie’s first school leadership position after having taught at 4th grade for the last twelve years in the Newton Schools and for two years in Franklin Schools before that. She earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education and moderate disabilities from Boston College and her graduate degree in Organizational Management from Endicott College. She holds licenses in all three areas. Many thanks to the interview committee for helping to interview many people from a very deep pool of qualified candidates. Mrs. Busk will officially begin on July 1st and her email will be katherine.busk@norwellschools.org.
Field Day is on Friday, June 5th! The rain date will be Tuesday, June 9th. Field Day will have an Olympic theme this year. Each class will represent a country of their choosing that participated at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics last February.
Grades 3-5 will participate in the morning, and grades K-2 in the afternoon with their classes in different Olympic station activities. All grades will participate in the opening ceremonies at 9:40 in the gym. All volunteers are required to have up-to-date CORI Forms and Fingerprints on file with the district. Field Day is only open to parent station volunteers who are CORI/Fingerprinted and who are committed to working as a volunteer for the entire morning or afternoon session. Each grade level is encouraged to wear a different colored T-shirt.
Kindergarten – white t-shirt, 1st Grade – yellow t-shirt, 2nd Grade – green t-shirt
3rd Grade – red t-shirt, 4th Grade – blue t-shirt, 5th Grade – designer t-shirt
