Dear Franklin Academy Families,

Happy FABBulous Friday! 💙💛

What an incredible week at Franklin Academy Boynton Beach! As we wrap up October and welcome November, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to have such amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. There is so much to celebrate!

🏆 DOUBLE CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION! 🏐🏈

What a proud moment for our BOLTS! Last Friday, BOTH our Volleyball and Flag Football teams brought home the CHAMPIONSHIP titles! Watching these athletes demonstrate determination, perseverance, and heart, especially when faced with challenges, was truly incredible. They never gave up, and their hard work paid off!

Today, we celebrated their accomplishments with a schoolwide Championship Parade! A HUGE thank-you to our amazing coaches, athletes, families, and staff for making this season so memorable. We couldn't be prouder of our BOLTS!

STORYBOOK CHARACTER PARADE – BRINGING BOOKS TO LIFE! 📖

What a FABBulous way to end our week! Today, our students brought their favorite storybook characters to life during our annual Storybook Character Parade!

Although the rain had us starting our celebration in the gym, the skies cleared just in time for our 3rd–5th graders to enjoy their parade outside!

It was absolutely wonderful seeing our students dressed as their favorite characters, proudly carrying their books, and sharing their love of reading! Their creativity, excitement, and enthusiasm made this event so special!

A HUGE thank-you to our amazing teachers and staff for making this event possible and to all the families who came out to cheer on our students! Seeing those smiles and watching our Franklin Family come together is what makes days like today so memorable! 💙💛

TECH IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL – TITLE I FAMILY NIGHT!

Thank you to all our FABBulous families who joined us Tuesday evening for our Title I Family Night! It was wonderful seeing families working alongside our staff and SGA students to explore PowerSchool, Clever, Google Classroom, and other tools that support student learning. We hope you walked away feeling more confident and connected to your child's education!

COFFEE WITH ADMINISTRATION – YOUR VOICE MATTERS!

A heartfelt thank-you to the families who joined us Wednesday morning for Coffee with Administration! We had meaningful conversations about our Title I Schoolwide Plan and appreciated the opportunity to hear your questions, concerns, suggestions, and wonderful shout-outs!

I have always believed that we cannot address what we don't know. Your feedback matters, and your willingness to share your thoughts helps us reflect, grow, and make Franklin Academy an even better place for our students and families. Thank you for being our partners in education!

Our October IXL Challenge officially ends TODAY, but the competition isn't over! Beginning Monday, November 2, we are kicking off our Gobble Up Growth IXL Challenge, running through November 20!

This time, we're adding even MORE excitement and incentives!

🌟 Daily Recognition: Each morning during the November Challenge, the student in FIRST PLACE in each grade level on the IXL Leaderboard will receive a bag of Takis!

🏆 Schoolwide Celebration: If Boynton Beach finishes in FIRST PLACE, we will celebrate with a special schoolwide incentive!

Let's encourage our students to keep practicing, building proficiency, and giving their very best. Come on, BOLTS! Let's bring home another WIN!

💙 SPREADING KINDNESS – FABBULOUS STAFF SHOUT-OUTS! 💛

As we enter November, the season of gratitude, I want to thank our families who have already submitted! Your kind words mean so much to our teachers and staff.

LOOKING AHEAD!

November brings many exciting opportunities to learn, celebrate, and connect! Please be sure to check out this week's newsletter for important updates, including our IB Parent Night, Donuts for Veterans, upcoming school events, and reminders.

As we close out another wonderful week, I want to sincerely thank you for the trust you place in us each day. Whether you're cheering from the sidelines, attending a family event, supporting learning at home, or simply sharing a kind word, YOU are what makes our Franklin Family so special!

💙💛 One student, one success, and one celebration at a time, we are Growing Greatness Together!

Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the extra hour of sleep as we turn our clocks back on Sunday, and we'll see you in November!

All the Best,

Mrs. L'Etoile, Mrs. Yurick, Mrs. Francese, and Mrs. Tina

Fall Festival Feedback is Back! Fall Festival Feedback is Back!

Following our discussion during Wednesday’s Coffee with Administration, we would love to hear from more of our FABBulous families about this year’s Fall Festival!

We sincerely thank everyone who joined us on Saturday, October 17th, and those who have already taken the time to share their feedback.

As discussed, the decision to move the festival indoors was made the Friday before the event due to the possibility of storms. While we know this changed the experience, the safety of our students, families, and staff was our top priority.

Your voice matters! We would greatly appreciate your feedback on what you enjoyed and what we can improve as we begin planning for next year.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and partnership as we work together to make our school events even better!

At Franklin Academy, we believe in recognizing and celebrating our students for making positive choices and demonstrating the values that make our school community strong. At the end of each quarter, students have the opportunity to participate in a Quarterly Celebration recognizing positive behavior, responsibility, and respect throughout the quarter.

We want to remind families of the eligibility expectations for our Quarterly Celebrations. Students who complete the quarter without receiving a detention or suspension will be eligible to participate.

We also want to remind our students that every new quarter is a fresh start! All students begin each quarter with a clean slate and a new opportunity to make positive choices and work toward participating in the next Quarterly Celebration.

These celebrations are about more than just having fun. They allow us to recognize students who consistently demonstrate good decision-making, responsibility, self-discipline, and respect for others.

We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by reminding students to think before they act, make positive choices, and take responsibility for their actions. Together, we can reinforce our K.I.T.E.S. core values—Kindness, Integrity, Tenacity, Enthusiasm, and Safety—and help our students continue to grow into responsible, respectful, and successful individuals.

We look forward to celebrating our students and their accomplishments each quarter. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we continue Growing Greatness Together!

Building Reading Comprehension: Making Connections While Reading

Strong readers do more than recognize words—they think about what they read and connect new information to what they already know. Making connections helps children understand texts, remember important details, and develop deeper comprehension skills.

Try these simple strategies at home:

  • Text-to-Self: Ask, “Does this story remind you of something you have experienced?”

  • Text-to-Text: Encourage your child to compare characters, events, or ideas with another book they have read.

  • Text-to-World: Discuss how information in a book connects to real-world events or topics.

  • Support with Evidence: Ask, “What part of the text helped you make that connection?”

Remember: Meaningful connections help children become more engaged, thoughtful readers. Just 10–15 minutes of reading and discussion each day can provide valuable opportunities to strengthen comprehension skills!

These products can cause significant reactions for individuals with allergies, asthma, respiratory concerns, or other sensitivities. Please speak with your child and remind them that spray products should remain at home.

Students who do not follow this expectation may receive appropriate consequences in accordance with school procedures.

🌟 November IB Learner Profile Spotlight: Balanced 🌟 🌟 November IB Learner Profile Spotlight: Balanced 🌟

At Boynton Beach Campus, we are celebrating the IB Learner Profile attribute Balanced! Being balanced means understanding the importance of taking care of our minds, bodies, and emotions. Our students are learning to make healthy choices, manage their time, and find a balance between learning, physical activity, creativity, and relaxation.

Throughout the month, students are encouraged to develop healthy habits, participate in a variety of activities, work collaboratively with others, and recognize the importance of both academic growth and personal well-being. By learning to balance different aspects of their lives, our students are building the skills they need to become healthy, happy, and successful lifelong learners.

🏡 Family Connection: Building Balance at Home

Families play an important role in helping children develop balanced habits! Here are a few ways to practice being balanced at home:

  • Stay Active: Go for a family walk, ride bikes, dance, or enjoy outdoor play together.

  • Make Healthy Choices: Talk about nutritious foods, drinking water, and getting enough sleep.

  • Balance Screen Time: Encourage a healthy mix of technology, reading, creative activities, and family time.

  • Make Time to Relax: Practice mindfulness, enjoy a quiet activity, or talk about feelings and emotions.

  • Encourage Responsibility: Help children balance homework, chores, hobbies, and playtime.

Conversation Starter: Ask your child, “What is one thing you do to take care of your mind, body, and feelings? How can we make more time for balance as a family?”

Thank you for partnering with us to help our students develop healthy habits and become well-rounded, lifelong learners. Together, we are Growing Greatness Together! 🌱

🏆🏐🏈 DOUBLE THE CHAMPIONSHIPS, DOUBLE THE PRIDE! 💙💛 🏆🏐🏈 DOUBLE THE CHAMPIONSHIPS, DOUBLE THE PRIDE! 💙💛

Every Minute Matters: Attendance & Dismissal Reminders Every Minute Matters: Attendance & Dismissal Reminders

Attendance Matters! Beginning Monday, August 31, 2026, Franklin Academy will begin consistently entering tardies and late pickups.

Please review the following important times and expectations:

⏰ Tardies:

Students must be in their classroom by the designated time to be considered on time.

  • Elementary (PYP): Students must be in their classroom by 7:30 AM. Students arriving after 7:30 AM will be marked tardy.
  • Middle School: Students must be in their classroom by 8:30 AM. Students arriving after 8:30 AM will be marked tardy.

🚗 Late Pickup:

Students will be considered a late pickup if they are picked up after the designated dismissal time.

  • Elementary (PYP): After 2:45 PM
  • Middle School: After 3:45 PM

Parents/guardians will receive a warning for the first late pickup.

After the first warning, a late pickup fee of $1.00 per minute, per child will apply.

For example:

  • 2:46 PM pickup = $1.00 per child
  • 2:50 PM pickup = $5.00 per child

We understand that unexpected circumstances can happen. However, consistent attendance and timely arrival and dismissal are important to ensuring that our students receive every minute of instructional time and that dismissal procedures run smoothly.

Every tardy. Every early check-out. Every absence. Every minute counts.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us Grow Greatness Together!

Carline Reminders Carline Reminders

As we continue working together to keep dismissal safe and efficient, please remember that arriving as early as 1:00 PM creates a safety concern, particularly when vehicles begin double parking and blocking Miner Road. Please avoid arriving excessively early and never block or impede traffic while waiting for carline.

Please also remember that parking on the roadway near or around the Allstate building is not permitted. This property does not belong to Franklin Academy, and PBSO may issue citations to vehicles parked in these areas. Families may not park there and walk onto campus to pick up students, including registered walkers.

A few additional reminders: DashPass and a Franklin Academy carline placard are required for carline pickup. Students should enter and exit on the passenger side, parents should remain in their vehicles, and all directions from carline staff should be followed.

Please share these expectations with anyone who picks up your child. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work together to keep our students, staff, and families safe! 💚
