Student Spotlight
Kudos to Tania Padilla, Hannah Smith, Alexia Banks, and Maurice Harris! These students are members of KOI and the Whole School Safety Committee (WSSC), and they created a new addition to "SWOOP"; which is "SWOOP holding hands". We'd like to continue this expression of connectedness to signify that we are ONE.
We are extremely proud of Judah Asamoah for his involvement in COBALT (Coalition for Black and Latine Teen Males)! For the inaugural fiscal yeal of COBALT, the group toured NIU, and they fostered a space rooted in trust, identity, and shared purpose, transcending mere group participation. Judah is the ambassador representing Lindblom, as well as Network 16.
Meet Nathaniel Santiago, one of our amazing 8th grade students who shines bright every single day! Nathaniel is one of the kindest and most respectful students at Lindblom. He is always uplifting others, spreading positivity, and bringing sunshine wherever he goes. He keeps us empowered and makes sure his classmates feel empowered too, showing what it truly means to Be Supportive and Be Inclusive. Nathaniel reminds us that leadership starts with heart, kindness, and community.

BE EMPOWERED
October marks two important milestones on our seniors’ path to college.
First, it begins the countdown to November 1st, the Early Action deadline for many colleges. Second, it signals the opening of the FAFSA application. Although FAFSA technically became available last week, we will continue with our planned timeline of working with an October 1st opening date.
We invite all families to join us for our FAFSA Virtual Night on October 8th, where we will answer any and all questions about FAFSA.
The presentation will be held virtually, and we hope you can attend. Meeting links will be shared below. Please note: there will be two simultaneous sessions — one in English and one in Spanish.

Study Abroad this Summer with CIEE – Experience the World, Grow Academically, Explore a Career, and Have Fun!
Did you know that only 2% of U.S. high school students study abroad? Study abroad is a truly transformative experience that builds real-world skills and has become an integral part of the teenage journey. After seeing the world, students return home with broadened world perspectives, language proficiency gains, new or reinvigorated passions for their future, and lasting friendship connections. CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange), the oldest and largest study abroad nonprofit in the U.S., offers 80+ summer programs in 35+ destinations worldwide. Students can explore 8 world languages, STEM, social change, arts, business, and more—all designed to align with academic learning standards and support core subject areas.
Lindblom Math & Science Academy is proud to be a CIEE Global Navigator Partner School, meaning our students have special access to these opportunities. Each summer, Lindblom students join peers from across the U.S. abroad, returning with inspiring stories of growth, leadership, and new global perspectives. Programs last 3–4 weeks and offer college credit, service-learning hours, hands-on experiences, and the chance to gain independence, confidence, and responsibility.
Additionally, our Global Navigator Scholarship awards over $7 million every year, helping to make their study abroad dream a reality. Set themselves apart in the college application process or jump start your career with an unforgettable trip of a lifetime! 📅 Enrollment is open now for Summer 2026 (scholarship deadline: January 21, 2026).
