Moore MST Magnet School
Run With the Herd!
Let's Finish the Semester Mustang Strong
Dear Mustang Families,
We will be closing out the semester on December 16. Please help us finish strong by ensuring that your child arrives to school on time every day, along with their needed materials. Spending a few minutes each evening to review daily homework is a good way to reinforce their learning as well.
This Wednesday, our 8th grade students will travel to the Tyler ISD Career & Technology Center to tour the campus and learn about all of the great programming that awaits them in high school. Please sign the field trip permit that is being sent home, and return it to school by Wednesday morning. There will be two different groups of students traveling to the CTC. The first group will be gone from 8:30-11:15. The second group will be gone from 12:00-3:15. Lunch times for 7th and 8th graders will be switched on Wednesday to accommodate the trip.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to deliver "excellence in middle level education".
Department Of Health Services
Prescription and Over the Counter Medication
Prescription or nonprescription medication required by a student should be administered at home by a parent or by the student's medical provider whenever possible. When home administration is not possible, a physician's order for prescription and over the counter medication is required for each medication. All medications must be transported to and from school by a parent or guardian.
It is against policy for a student to carry medication of any kind on campus unless school authorities have received a written request from the prescribing physician that it is medically necessary to have the medicine available for immediate administration. This request is valid for one school year and must be renewed at the beginning of each school year.
Parents, we appreciate your cooperation to keep our students safe and healthy during the school day.
Health Class: Opt-In Information
As part of our science and health curriculum, the ESTEEM curriculum will teach 6th and 7th grade students about the human reproductive system, abstinence, and human sexuality. Parents can preview the materials for these units at https://esteemjourney.com. A print copy of the curriculum is available at your child’s campus. Parents/Guardians may contact their school to schedule an appointment for viewing.
Parents must go to the Parent Self-Serve Portal at
https://frontline.tylerisd.org/selfserve/EntryPointHomeAction.do?parent=true
and complete the Health Opt-In Form.
Human sexuality education begins at home. You are your child’s primary educator and the most important influence on your child's health decisions. The ESTEEM lessons are designed to reinforce what you teach at home.
If you have questions about the ESTEEM curriculum, please email Hayley Skinner, Coordinator of Health and Physical Education at Hayley.Skinner@TylerISD.org.
