Bobcat BYTE

Dear Parents,

The Legislative Budget Board (LBB), a permanent joint committee of the Texas Legislature that develops recommendations for legislative appropriations for all agencies of state government, is conducting a management and performance review of the Rio Hondo Independent School District.

The primary goal of this survey effort is to improve the quality of education by helping the district better manage its resources. The three main objectives of this review are to (1) identify opportunities to save money or increase revenue, (2) develop strategies to streamline and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and (3) highlight exemplary programs that other Texas school districts could replicate.

Please complete the entire survey before exiting. The survey will not allow you to return to your specific response once you have exited. Your responses are anonymous. There are no right or wrong answers. Just select the answer that best describes your response to the survey question.

We are asking that all parents complete the survey no later than Friday, September 11, 2026.

If you have any questions, please email the survey administrator, jessica.pena@lbb.texas.gov, or call 512-463-1200.

As the anticipation for the first official game of the season continues to build, Rio Hondo's football program recently celebrated one of its most meaningful traditions, Helmet Decal Night.

Student-athletes and their family members gathered together to place the official Bobcat decals on their helmets, marking a special milestone in preparation for the season ahead. This annual tradition symbolizes the commitment, hard work, and dedication that each athlete has invested throughout the offseason and preseason.

More than just preparing equipment for game day, Helmet Decal Night serves as a reminder that football is a family affair. Parents, siblings, and loved ones joined their student-athletes in a moment that reflects the support system behind every player who steps onto the field. The evening was filled with pride, excitement, and anticipation as families helped put the finishing touches on the helmets that will represent Rio Hondo this season.

With helmets now ready and the season officially on the horizon, the Bobcats turn their focus to their upcoming matchup against Brownsville Pace. The team continues to prepare with determination and confidence, eager to put their hard work into action under the Friday night lights.

We thank all of our families for their unwavering support and for helping keep this cherished tradition alive. Together, we are building more than a football team, we are strengthening the Bobcat family.

The decals are on, the preparation is complete, and the BOBCATS are ready to take the field. Let's pack the stands and support our team as they open the season against Brownsville Pace!

Go Bobcats! 🐾🏈
