Virginia 4-H National 4-H Week Promotional Toolkit
National 4-H Week is a time for the entire 4-H community to come together and celebrate the positive impact of 4-H. From October 4-10, 2026, Virginia 4-H members, volunteers, families, alumni, Extension professionals, and community partners are encouraged to share their stories and help others learn about the opportunities available through 4-H.
The theme for the 2026 National 4-H Week celebration is Beyond Ready.
4-H prepares young people for more than the next step. Through hands-on learning, caring relationships with adults, leadership opportunities, community service, and exploration of personal interests, young people gain the confidence and skills they need to navigate the future.
During National 4-H Week, we invite the Virginia 4-H community to celebrate the experiences, people, and opportunities that make 4-H meaningful.
Whether you are a current 4-H member, parent, volunteer, alumnus, Extension professional, or community supporter, you have a story to tell.
Throughout the week, we encourage everyone to:
- Share what 4-H means to you.
- Celebrate the young people who make 4-H great.
- Recognize the volunteers, educators, mentors, families, and partners who make 4-H possible.
- Highlight the hands-on learning experiences taking place in communities across Virginia.
- Share how 4-H members are making a positive difference.
- Invite others to learn more about and become involved in Virginia 4-H.
Together, we can show how Virginia 4-H is helping young people become Beyond Ready.
About Beyond Ready
The world is constantly changing, and young people need opportunities to develop the skills, confidence, relationships, and experiences that will help them succeed.
That is where 4-H comes in.
Through 4-H, young people discover their interests, explore possibilities, build relationships, and develop skills that prepare them for life and work. The Beyond Ready initiative focuses on helping young people build the readiness they need for their futures while recognizing that every young person has a unique path.
In Virginia 4-H, being Beyond Ready means that young people are developing the ability to:
- Communicate and work with others.
- Lead and serve.
- Solve problems.
- Explore their interests and passions.
- Adapt to new situations.
- Build confidence.
- Develop resilience.
- Make informed decisions.
- Connect learning to future opportunities.
- Make a positive difference in their communities.
4-H is not about preparing young people for just one future.
It is about helping them develop the skills and confidence to pursue whatever future they choose.
During National 4-H Week, we will celebrate how Virginia 4-H is helping young people become Beyond Ready for life, work, leadership, and the future.

What to Post
Consider using a mix of:

- Youth quotes.
- Volunteer testimonials.
- Alumni stories.
- Before-and-after photos.
- Impact statistics.
- Community service stories.

Let Young People Tell the Story
Whenever possible, allow young people to share their experiences in their own words.
Ask youth:
- What have you learned through 4-H?
- What is your favorite 4-H memory?
- What is something new you have tried?
- What is your 4-H spark?
- How has 4-H helped you grow?
- What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining 4-H?
- How has 4-H prepared you for the future?
Short answers can be turned into graphics, captions, videos, or quotes.

Try to include a variety of people throughout the week:
