Happy Friday, Davis Families!

The 8th grade students had a packed week of fun! Between Washington, DC, the Ohio State Reformatory, the Columbus Zoo, the movies, and a cookout there wasn't much down time. Next week is the 6th and 7th grades' turn to get out of the building a bit. 6th grade will be going to a Clippers game and the 7th grade will be taking their annual fishing field trip. These will offer a great time to our students.

In the midst of the fun, the learning continues, MAP tests are getting wrapped up, trimester and year end projects are being completed, and we are gearing up for a great week of HOPE next week. Please see below for the spirit week that our Hope Squad has planned. Wednesday we will have our final pep rally of the year to award the popular Spirit Stick and then we will have Spring Fest from 3:30-5:30pm. This year Spring Fest will be for Davis students only as an opportunity for them to celebrate a great year together.

Have a great weekend.

Go Irish!

Jaime

Important Library Dates

It’s been another wonderful year in the Davis library! We've loved helping Davis students find great books, learn effective research strategies, navigate the complicated world of AI, create technology based projects, and understand the importance of information literacy. We are honored to be able to provide all of their library needs!

Here are two important library dates to keep in mind. We appreciate your assistance as we wrap up the year!

May 20th: all library books need to be returned to the library

May 26th: 8th grade students will turn in their Chromebooks and chargers to the library (students enrolled in summer school will keep their Chromebooks and chargers).

Please contact Davis librarian Meggan Aston if you have any questions: aston_meggan@dublinschools.net

8th grade Chromebook collection information

Eighth grade students will turn in their Chromebooks to the Davis library on Tuesday, May 26th unless they are enrolled in the DCS summer school program.

Before returning their Chromebooks, students must remove all personal stickers.

-the only stickers that should remain are the DCS barcode/asset tag number and the student’s name

What to bring to school on Tuesday, May 26th:

-Chromebook with all personal stickers removed

-protective case attached

-charger

-if students currently have a Chromebook in repair, they will return the assigned loaner

Additional Information:

-All 8th grade Chromebooks will be locked remotely over the summer.

-Students will not be issued a new Chromebook at 9th grade orientation if their middle school Chromebook was not turned in; middle school Chromebooks will not be accepted at 9th grade orientation. If a student is absent on May 26th, the Chromebook must be dropped off at the Emerald Campus front desk (5171 Emerald Parkway, Dublin, OH 43017) labeled with their name and school.

-Students enrolled in summer school will return their Chromebooks to the Emerald Campus front desk labeled with their name and their school at the conclusion of their coursework.

Please email the Davis librarian, Meggan Aston, with any questions. Thank you for your assistance with 8th grade Chromebook collection!

8th Grade Families -- Save the Date

8th grade families,

Please mark your calendar for the end of year 8th grade celebration which will be held Thursday, May 28 at 10am. More details will follow as we get closer. MOVING OVER THE SUMMER?

If you are moving and withdrawing your student please contact our Guidance Secretary, Laura Frazee, at frazee_laura@dublinschools.net or 614-718-8613. Per the Middle School Student Handbook, a withdrawal form must be picked up in the Guidance Department at least three days prior to withdrawal. This is especially important as we near the end of the school year so that we have enough time to forward your student's cumulative records to their new school. Thank you!

Davis Football Cheerleading Tryouts - The tryouts for the Davis Football 7th & 8th Cheerleading squads have been set. The "pre-camp" (Recommended & combined with 6th grade sports camp) will be held on May 19 & 21 from 3:15 - 5:15. Tryouts will take place on Friday, May 22, from 3:15 - 5:15 pm. "Pre-Camp" days are highly recommended. Tryout informational packets will be posted on the Athletic Website, and paper copies will be made available in the Guidance office on May 1, 2026.

Summer & Fall Sports Schedules

Summer is almost here, and that means Summer sports workouts! All of the Davis sports summer conditioning schedules were posted on Monday, May 11, on the Athletic Website. There you will find a posting for each Fall sport that will be conducting optional conditioning over the Summer. You will also find the open gym dates for volleyball, open nets for tennis, and tryout dates and times for all of our Fall Sports. ( Football, Cheer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Golf)

Final Forms Registration for Summer and Fall 2026 - The "window" for open registration for Final Forms will open district-wide on Monday, June 1, 2026. No new accounts or sports registrations can take place until it is opened by the district. DCS is working with Final Forms to help make the registration and account creation process much easier moving forward.

Sports Physicals - This is a reminder that all athletes must have a current physical in the Athletic Office PRIOR to any participation in summer conditioning, open gyms, and tryouts. Physicals must be completed using the Ohio High School Athletic Association

(OHSAA) physical form only. This form can be downloaded from the Davis Athletic website or the OHSAA website. Physicals from last sports season are good for 13 months and do carry over with a valid date into the next school year.

Dublin Football Camps

On behalf of Dublin Football we want to take this opportunity to invite you to register your child for one (or more) of the Youth Football Camps offered by ALL 3 high schools in our great community.

One of the primary goals of our camps is to give every individual an experience similar to what high school players encounter on a daily basis. We want to give ALL athletes the opportunity to learn different positions so they can become well-rounded football players, and become better prepared for their upcoming middle school season.

Our camp forms, which include more information about each camp and QR Codes for registration, are attached. If you have already registered, we look forward to seeing you this summer.

Thank you and Go Dublin!
