Commitment to Excellence, the Cavalier Way!
Principal's Message
We are excited for the start of the 2025-2026 school year in just a few days! The first day of school is Tuesday, August 26.
CCPS policy reminders:
High School Students
- Students may bring their phone/smartwatch, but once school begins, the device must be powered completely off (not on vibrate or silent mode) and must remain in a non-visible, secure location, with the exception of administratively approved classroom activities and lunchtime.
- During approved times, phones/smartwatches must not be disruptive, such as loud/explicit/inappropriate music or videos. Sound must only be audible through headphones. Phone conversations are prohibited.
- Camera and/or video functions must not be used to take or transmit any image or video at any time, even if the use of the phone/smartwatch is otherwise permitted.
- At the end of the lunch or activity period, all phones/smartwatches must be immediately powered back off and returned to a non-visible, secure location, until the end of the school day.
- Students may use their phone/smartwatch on the bus or school-charted vehicle, but it must not be disruptive or cause a distraction to the driver at any time. Sound must only be audible through headphones. Phone conversations are prohibited.
Hoods
- Hoods are not permitted to be worn on the head inside CCPS school buildings
Please discuss these expectations with your child(ren) and the importance of following the school's direction when addressing cell phones and hoods. Your support is important in helping our students follow behavior expectations and in supporting the school should consequences need to be given.
We anticipate continued reduction of distractions in class, increased academic focus and engagement, positive interactions and community building. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure a successful school year.

You are invited to join us on the first day of school to greet our students outside the building as they arrive for the first day of school. Your presence will help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere as our students return, contributing to setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
This gesture not only shows our students that they are supported by a caring community, but it also fosters a sense of belonging and excitement. By coming together, we can make the first day of school a memorable and uplifting experience for everyone.
We look forward to seeing you there and thank you for your continued support! Note: due to bus drop off, parking will not be in the main lot. Please use the Kiss and Ride or the parking lot and spaces closest to Dares Beach Rd.
