Seven Oaks Elementary
November 2026
A Message from Mrs. Altman
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we are already in November! I continue to be impressed by students' hard work, growth, and enthusiasm for learning each day.
This month, we will begin Progress Monitoring 2 (PM2) testing. PM2 provides us with valuable information about the academic growth students have made since the beginning of the year and helps us ensure they are on track to meet their learning goals. Our teachers are working closely together to review student data, celebrate successes, and identify the supports needed to help every child continue to grow and achieve at high levels. You are a partner in this work, and I encourage you to collaborate with your child's teacher(s) on helping your child reach their academic goals.
As we continue on with the school year, attendance remains a top priority. Every instructional day matters, and consistent attendance gives students the best opportunity to learn, practice new skills, and demonstrate what they know. Please help us by ensuring your child arrives at school on time each day and tries their very best.
Be sure to review the grade-level newsletter each week that is sent out by your child's teacher. These newsletters are one of the best ways to stay informed about what your child is learning, upcoming tests and projects, important dates, and ways you can support learning at home.
As you look ahead on our school calendar, please keep an eye out for upcoming events, family engagement opportunities, and student celebrations and activities throughout the month. We have many exciting things planned and look forward to seeing our families involved in our school community.
Don't miss our Quarter 2 SAC Meeting on November 17th at 8:30 am in the Media Center. This month, we will discuss the results of the Family Feedback Survey.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can ensure every Seven Oaks Eagle continues to learn, grow, and soar!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Altman
Calendar of Events
Family Feedback Survey
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fall Family Feedback Survey. Your input helps Seven Oaks Elementary celebrate what’s working well and identify areas where we can impact positive change.
We are proud to report:
Overall school experience: 100% reported an overall positive perception of our school; 90% indicated they wanted their child to attend our school
Communication: 97% agreed or strongly agreed that the school communicates frequently enough; 87% agreed or strongly agreed that communication is high quality
Academics: 93% agreed or strongly agreed that the school prioritizes academic performance; 91% agreed or strongly agreed that the school prepares students effectively for the next level; 84% agreed or strongly agreed that students needing extra help receive support
Safety: 95% agreed or strongly agreed that the school maintains a safe environment
Behavior: 93% agreed or strongly agreed on fairness with regard to discipline policies; 86% agreed or strongly agreed on clarity of discipline policies
Priority Themes Identified by Families:
Survey follow-through and transparency: Among the participants, substantial proportions reported being unsure of actions taken or not recalling results being shared.
Support for ESE and gifted students: Responses describe gaps in services and expectations for both ESE and gifted learners, while most participants viewed academic support positively.
We are reviewing these priorities and will make plans to take action around them. One way you can be involved in discussion around the survey results is to attend the School Advisory Council meeting on Tuesday, November 17th at 8:30 am in the Media Center. This will be one of the agenda items.
Once plans are developed by our school team with input from SAC, we will share updates and progress with you. Thank you for your detailed feedback, which is essential for improving your school experience!

Pasco One
Beginning July 28, the myStudent App will transition to Pasco ONE, a redesigned family platform built around the concept of "One App. Every Connection." The new experience was developed in response to family feedback and is designed to bring frequently used resources and information together in one convenient location.
What Will Families See?
Families will notice that the tools and services they use have been reorganized and simplified to create a more user-friendly experience. Through Pasco ONE, families will be able to:
- Access parent and guardian resources through one platform
- Find important school and district information more quickly and easily
- Stay connected to school news, announcements, and updates
- Access commonly used resources and communication channels, including district and school social media links
- Access ONE Wallet to manage school-related payments, including student meal accounts
Parent Forms in myStudent
Log in to your parent portal account and complete the emergency card information and parent consent forms. Both of these forms are important so we can best serve and support your child at school. If you have questions about any part of the emergency card or parent consent form, reach out and we can help answer your questions. Pay careful attention to the Media Release section in the parent consent form - it provides details about what it means to consent to having your child's picture taken while at school.
You can find additional information about the Parents' Bill of Rights on the district website: https://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/oll_documents/parent-bill-of-rights
Dress Code
The dress code for students attending Pasco County Schools is included in the Student Code of Conduct, which can be accessed here. Keep this information in mind as you shop for new school clothes. Students have recess daily and should have some form of tennis or athletic shoes for outside activities.
Parent Resources
Visit this link for a variety of parent resources offered by Pasco County Schools. Included in this section of the district website are items such as the Student Code of Conduct, Student Progression Plan, academic resources, and student support services information, along with much more.
Birthday Celebration Snacks
If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday with a special treat, birthday celebration snacks may be purchased through the cafeteria. A variety of snack options are available, and treats will be distributed during your child's regularly scheduled lunch period on the date you select. Please note that advance ordering is required. To ensure the safety and consistency of our school celebrations, outside birthday treats are not permitted.

Bicycles, E-Bikes, & Scooters
All students who ride a bike to school should wear a helmet. Students who ride e-bikes or electric scooters need to be cautious of other pedestrians on the sidewalk when going to and from school. Remind your child to be aware of their surroundings when riding a bike, e-bike, or scooter to ensure safety for themselves and those around them.
Volunteer at SOES!
Volunteers are an important part of building relationships between our school, our families, the community, and our business partners. We appreciate our volunteers and the value they add to the educational experience. In order to volunteer on campus or attend any field trips with your child(ren), you MUST be an approved volunteer.
Fingerprints are good for 5 years once you've completed that process, however, an application must be submitted each year.
