Dear Duval Families!

We hope everyone had a fun, relaxing week off!

As we enter the "middle" portion of the year, there are lots of important learning experiences and community events being planned. Below, please find articles sharing some of these upcoming adventures, and invitations for folks to join in the excitement.

Thursday is Pajama Day with a Pie-In-The-Face Assembly in the afternoon! Also, please don't forget to register your Kindergartner for next year (see link below).

Mosaic Mural Project

Many thanks to our PTO, N Easton Savings, Whitman Cultural Council, and anonymous donors, our students will be working with Artist, Josh Winer, Mar. 10-21st. The permanent artwork will be a beautiful lasting statement about the uniqueness of our school.

Over break, Josh and teacher leaders worked on the design which is based on hundreds of drawings from the kids made during art. We have about 10 volunteers so far, but we welcome parents/guardians to come in and work with Josh and the kids. Please sign up HERE. https://forms.gle/cWZnzNVqWcN7d9TK7

Glow Run Success!

One reason we are able to do the big mural is the success of this year's Booster Glow Run! As of today, PTO raised $25,308 for Duval! Having met our goal, we will be having a special assembly where a rep from each class gets to Pie Dr. M and Ms. C in the Face on Thursday! Along with the mural, Booster funding supports student enrichment programs funded by our wonderful PTO! Photos of the event are available HERE for Duval families only for a limited time. Many thanks all!

Duval Values Project

This week, we will be tabulating all the words, discussing them with Staff, Parents (at a PTO meeting), and School Council. The final list will become the core values of Duval, and act as the basis for all we do at school, including expectations on how we interact and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Thank you all for your help in laying the foundation with us!

BOOTS!

A warmer but slushier week. Students should come with a coat, hat, gloves/mittens, and definitely boots!

And pleeeeaase, PUT NAMES ON EVERYTHING! Thank you very much!!

Safety and Traffic Notes

Now that it is late February, we ask ALL Parent drop-off and pick-up folks to PLEASE stay in your cars if at all possible.

For safety sake, we still ask younger walkers to have an adult meet them on the grass on either side of the crosswalk. Adults MUST be out of a car.

At this time, we ask everyone to check Infinite Campus to make sure your phone and email info is correct. On our last email, we had over 50 bad email addresses!

PTO NEWS!

Hey Dolphins,

First of all, congratulations on making Duval history! For the first time in our seven years partnering with Boosterthon, we have raised over $25,000! It took a ton of work from students, teachers, families, and friends and we are so proud of everyone involved!

We will be reaching out to those donors who have matching corporate funds available, so please keep an eye out for that email from us.

In other news, we are getting Talent Show preparations underway. Sign up forms went home over the break but they are also available at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScBOkXL4utvMoY5ue-EQwAXoXlN-0kn5iaDCEKLX9T1V66XBw/viewform

Please have your forms returned by March 7th! Email duvaltalentshow2025@gmail.com with any questions.

Congratulations again, Dolphins! See you soon!
