Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please review the information below and be aware of Influenza Like Illness (ILI). We encourage you to keep your child home if they are experiencing symptoms.

• Fever, greater than 100 degrees.

--Keep your student home Very Important

--Do not bring your child back to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication.

• Cough

• Headache

• Sore throat

• Chills

• Runny or stuffy nose

• Fatigue

• Body aches

• Diarrhea

• Vomiting

Please, respond quickly if you get the call to pick up your child from school.

• Have a plan in place for what you will do if your child needs to stay home for a week.

• Discourage sharing of drinks and food.

• Encourage proper hand washing and cough etiquette.

• Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.

• If other family members in the household get the flu, watch children closely and keep them home if symptoms begin to appear.

• Check with your healthcare provider to see if your child should receive the flu vaccine.
