McKelvey Primary
September 11, 2025
Dear McKelvey Primary Families,
I hope to see you at our first PTO meeting tonight at 6:30 at McKelvey Intermediate Library. This is at the Intermediate building located off of McKelvey Rd.
Yesterday was our first half day of the year. On these days, Kindergarten and 1st grade students have the opportunity to collaborate with one another as "buddies" and participate in activities together. This is a fun way to make connections throughout the school and learn together. The students love these days! When the students dismiss, our staff is able to participate in their own professional development and collaboration with their teams.
Looking forward to the rest of September!
Sincerely,
Dr. Christina Pliske

This is a great service for children who do not have access to a Dentist. Your child may be seen in the school at no cost but you will need to call to verify this at 618-993-8333.
You can register online at the address listed on this form. There will also be a paper form coming home in your child's folder. Again, please call the number listed for any questions regarding coverage and cost.
If you have any questions, please let me know, tsato@parkwayschools.net
Below is a link to our district calendar (click the blue button) as well as a snapshot of the half and no school days throughout the year. We know unplanned absences will occur, but your child's attendance is extremely important. We miss them when they are gone and they miss important learning and social interaction when they are not at school. If possible, when planning for appointments and/or vacations, please attempt to use the afternoons of half days or days off school throughout the year.
This must be done yearly!
If you are in need of assistance with breakfast or lunch money, please complete the Free and Reduced lunch process. This must be done EVERY Year.

School breakfast and lunch menus can be found here. You can deposit money into your student's account at My School Bucks.
