Grandparent's Day Celebration
All visitors are required to sign up for a preprinted badge to enter the building. We will not be printing badges at the door. Use the link below to sign up for your badge! Please bring a valid ID and arrive early. Vistors will pick up their badge and then proceed to the cafeteria to meet up with their grandchildren. Due to limited parking we will have shuttle buses from the church across the street.
We will have staggered times over a 2 day period. Each time slot is divided by student's first initial of their last name.
This is not an early out day. If grandparents are checking out children,
it will be counted as an absence.
We will have photo displays set up around the cafeteria to take pictures.
Students and grandparents will have a chance to create a photo frame together for the pictures!
Volunteers Needed
Please contact our PTO at bhp.pto@gmail.com if interested in helping
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
All students should be in their CLASSROOMS to begin instruction at 7:45.
We are dismissing in about 20minutes. Please arrive by 3:25.
If you are late picking up your child, they will be waiting for you in the front office.
Safety Concerns:
*Please do not pass other cars or buses in the front or back loop by the cones unless directed by a staff member.
*Students need to enter and exit the car on the side closest to the sidewalk. They may have to climb through and over but this is safer than walking around the outside of the car.
*Parents should remain in the car and not get out to help students get in or to buckle up.
*If your child cannot buckle themselves, please pick your child up and then pull over into the parking lots to buckle them. This helps the line move quicker and safer.
*Students should remain seated and buckled until the car is stopped at a cone to unload. We have seen many students hanging out of windows and sunroofs. It may seem safe in the loops but it is not.
Transportation Changes
WOW!! We have 30-40 transportation changes daily!
If your child is going home differently than their normal routine, please email Marlene Gray at Marlene.Gray@wimberleyisd.net.
The only changes that will be honored are the ones that are emailed to Ms. Gray in the main office.
You must include the child's name, grade, and teacher
All changes must be communicated before 2:00. This allows our staff time to follow our procedures to ensure your child gets home safely.
Car Tags are Required
All car rider parents are required to have a car tag hanging in their front windshield at pickup. This will allow staff to safely dismiss students.
Sarting Monday: If your car tag is not displayed,
you will be asked to park and check your child out from the front office.
Please have student name, grade and teacher displayed on the tag. We have extra car tags in the front office if you need some!
Attendance
All students should be in their CLASSROOMS to begin instruction at 7:45.
Kid Connection Parents
Your child must be picked up by 6:00pm
If your child is not attending Kid Connection on a particular day, you must put in for a transportation change to Marlene.Gray@wimberelyisd.net. Kid Connection students are in a different area than the car rider students. If you are coming through the regular dismissal loop, you will hold up dismissal while we get your child from the alternate location. It is best for us to be prepared ahead of time and have your child with the car riders. Parking and checking your child out from the front office is also an option after 3:00.
Please do NOT park in the front loop to pick up your child until after 5:00. We still have buses coming through the front loop after school until 5 and they have gotten blocked by kid connection parents parking in the loop. It also blocks emergency vehicles from being able to get in if needed.
Bus Rider Information
Please download the Smart Tag parent app.
The Wimberley ISD Transportation Department utilizes the SMART tag system in all of our buses. This system helps increase safety and security for students riding on a school bus, leveraging technology to improve student management and communications on school buses. SMART tag monitors student loading and unloading, providing real-time information to the Transportation Department, and you, the parent. The SMART tag system helps WISD:
- Increase driver, school, and parent awareness
- Ensure riders load on the right bus and unload at the right stop
- Maximize rider safety and security
- Enable drivers to efficiently and effectively perform their duties
