Message From School Administration
Today, we celebrate and recognize three very special members of our CLES family who work behind the scenes—and often in the spotlight—to help make Centennial Lane Elementary School a welcoming, safe, clean, and joyful place for our students and staff each and every day.
We want to give a HUGE shout-out and heartfelt THANK YOU to Ms. Porter, Mr. Barnes, and Ms. Reed! 🎉👏
We appreciate their time, dedication, hard work, and love for our CLES community. They do so much more than keep our building looking its best. They are an important part of our school family, and their care for our students, staff, and school shines through in all that they do.
From the early mornings to the long days, from the big jobs to the little details, they are always there to help keep CLES running smoothly.
Ms. Porter, Mr. Barnes, and Ms. Reed—thank you for everything you do for our school! We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our CLES family. 💙
Please join us in giving them the BIGGEST CLES THANK YOU! 🐬💙
We appreciate you, we celebrate you, and we are so lucky to have you!
Happy National Custodian Day! 🎉
With gratitude,
Debra Anoff, Principal

News Worth Repeating
MCAP Score Report Letter
Dear CLES Families,
Your child’s Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) Individual Student Report was sent home with your child last Friday. These reports are for students who attended Centennial Lane Elementary School during the 2025–2026 school year and participated in MCAP testing.
The report includes your child’s overall score and performance level, along with additional information to help you understand how your child performed in relation to Maryland’s grade-level academic standards.
MCAP results are one of several measures we use to understand student progress and guide instruction. Teachers also consider classroom performance, district assessments, and other academic data when identifying student strengths and areas for continued growth.
We encourage you to review the Individual Student Report with your child and celebrate their hard work and progress. If you have questions about your child’s results or would like additional information, please contact your child’s teacher.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s learning and success.
Warmly,
Debra Anoff, Principal
Siobhan Drumgoole, Assistant Principal

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th each year in the United States. This celebration honors numerous people from Spanish-speaking backgrounds who have come to the United States. We celebrate their cultures and traditions during this month. September 15th was chosen as the starting point for the celebration because it is the anniversary of the independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Also, Mexico celebrates its independence day on September 16th and Chile celebrates its independence day on September 18th.
Check out these websites for more information about Hispanic Heritage Month and how you can celebrate virtually and at home!
