Riverview Report
Here's What's Happening at Riverview
A Message From Ms. Poulson
Our theme this year is "Dream BIG." I will be introducing the theme to our students at our first Monday's with Ms. Poulson next week. "Dream B.I.G." is all about believing in ourselves, inspiring others, growing through challenges, and setting and reaching our goals.
B: Believe: Believe in yourself & your abilities.
I: Inspire: Inspire others through kindness, leadership & effort.
G: Grow: Grow through learning, challenges, & reflection.
It's been 2 weeks of school, and it feels so great to have all of our students here with us. I've had the opportunity to meet with all of our students for grade level assemblies. We talked about what it means to be a RAM, our school rules, and some fun things we will be implementing this year. I am so impressed with the students here at Riverview! Everyday I am greeted with happy faces, and it makes my day.
For those who are new to our school community, the "Riverview Report" is my monthly principal's newsletter. It will be sent out at the beginning of every month. We ask that you read this bulletin thoroughly as it contains most of the upcoming events at Riverview and important information for parents.
If I can help in anyway, please reach out to me. Have an amazing month!
Thank you,
Ms. Poulson
Before & After School Procedures
Green Flags = Outside Day
When you see the green flags on display in the front of the school in the morning, it is an outside day before school. This means there is adult supervision (8:20-8:40 AM) on the playground in the back of the school.
Red Flags = Inside Day
When you see the red flags on display in the front of the school in the morning, it is an inside day before school. This means that there is not adult supervision on the playground in the morning, so students need to enter the school and walk the middle hallways. There are adults on supervision for the hallways on these days.
After School Procedure
When the bell rings to end the school day, the expectation for students is to head home. Whether that be to wait for their ride out front, head to the bus, or to start walking/biking home. There is not adult supervision on the back playground after school.
Cell Phones, Smart Watches, & Other Electronic Devices
Students are not to bring items to school which will distract themselves or others from learning. We strongly discourage students from bringing cellphones to school. If a parent gives permission for a cellphone, it must be turned off and stored in the student’s backpack. Smart watches need to be on "school mode" or turned off during school hours. All audio-type devices are not allowed at school (i.e. ipods, mp3 players, cd players, etc.) We do not want any student to lose or have electronics stolen while at school. If students use a cellphone/smart watch during school hours without permission, it will be taken by the teacher and returned at the end of the day (or after multiple times it will be taken to the office to be picked up by a parent). Please don’t encourage students to contact you on their watch. Students have access to office phones to contact parents for illness or an emergency. We encourage parents to contact the office to relay messages to students as well.

$35 School Donation Fee
Reminder to pay donations for this school year!
Dear Parents,
Each year our school has a variety of activities and field trips. We are asking for a donation of $35 per student to help cover these extra costs.
Donations can be made at SchoolCash Online or in person at your school. SchoolCash Online will be used for both elementary and secondary students, making it easier for parents to handle fee and donation payments.
You will need to create an account in SchoolCash Online using your child's student number. This number can be found by clicking on your student's name in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
WHAT IS THE DONATION MONEY USED FOR?
A large portion of the funds are divided up and given directly to each grade level teacher. The teacher uses his or her donation account to pay for things like supplies and materials for lessons, resources for class parties and activities, field trips and other needed items.
A small portion of the funds are used to fund the following school-wide events:
*Toy Tower in the front office (students earn tokens to use in the toy tower)
*Birthday gift for every student
*Treasure Tower
*Assemblies
*Field trips
*Field Day
*Rewards for citizenship
We try really hard to make this money go as far as it possibly can, so we thank you in advance for paying your $35 donation for each student.
