leading with heart

As public servants, we often talk about roads, budgets, utilities & ordinances - but rarely do we talk about love. Our love for our communities connects all of us. Peter Kageyama, author of For the Love of Cities, brings an important reminder that our cities are not just places, they are relationships. We are not just managing infrastructure; we are nurturing emotional connections between residents & the places they call home. He encourages us to think differently about how joy, creativity & emotional engagement can be tools for real transformation - & how "Fun" is not a frivolous concept, but an essential part of a healthy, thriving city.

choose your attitude!

Welcome to our lovely town! There are lots of events in downtown in addition to waterfest. The Opal Wapoo gravel grinder is back this year, sometimes they do music on the lawn down at the Hall of Waters so there's all sorts of other events in downtown through the year! ~ I moved here 18 years ago & I have always thought it was the cutest little town! ~ I moved to the city from Excelsior 4 months later I'm back. ~ We've been here 9 years & most of our family has slowly moved up here as well! We love it here!! Read it on FB
