GREGORY HILL NEWSLETTER
February 2026

Message from the Principal
Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members,
I cannot believe we are already to the second month of 2026. Parent/Teacher conferences will be held March 18th and March 19th. Look for a sign-up sheet in your child’s classroom as we get closer. Registration for the 2026/2027 school year opened in December. Please use your parent portal information to login to Infinite Campus and register. We will be celebrating 36 families for having 95% or higher attendance rate for the first semester. Hopefully we will be able to celebrate even more families in May for the second semester.
Please remember to be safe in the parking lot and park in designated parking spots only. You can find more parking lot reminders at the end of the newsletter.

We are in need of clothing donations
Sometimes children have accidents at school and need to be changed. We encourage families to send a change of clothes with their student daily. If you have any extra T3-T6 pants and shirts, please consider donating to the school. Donations can be dropped off in the office.

School Reminders
Early Release
Full day classrooms will participate in district-wide early release day every Monday. This will allow teachers time to collaborate with colleagues, create lesson plans and analyze student data. Please plan to pick up your child by 1:30 on Mondays.
Half Day programs will not have school the first Friday of each month. In order for our half day staff to get the same time with colleagues.
Book Bags
Classrooms have started to visit the school’s library once a week to check out a book. Parents should return both the book and the bag so students can receive a new book each week. This is a great way to get children excited about reading and a good way to get them used to being responsible and returning the book weekly.
Inclement weather Late Start
As we get into the colder, snowy months, the district may call for a “Late Start.” If a late start is decided, parents will receive an automated announcement from WPS.
When a late start day is called for the district, our school schedule will be the following:
Full day students will start school at 10:00 and dismiss at 2:30.
Half Day AM session will be cancelled (No School)
Half Day PM session will be normal (11:40-2:40)
Although some absences are unavoidable, it is important that students attend school as often as possible. Preschool is a great time to start building a habit of good attendance. Please note that we are allowing days for students to be absent for illness and do not want families to send children to school sick. Students are asked to stay home if they are experiencing any cold/flu like symptoms: fever, diarrhea or vommitting. Students need to be clear of the symtoms without being on any fever reducing or other medication for at least 24 hours prior to returning to school. If you would like to learn more about when to keep your child home click on how sick is too sick below. Students with 95% attendance in a month will receive a small token of appreciation from the school.
