Focusing Our Commitment to Unlimited Success
End of the Year Endeavor Fiesta
Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is an annual event that takes place during the first full week of May. It is a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of teachers to education and society. The week is dedicated to honoring the hard work, dedication, and passion that educators bring to their profession.
During this week, students, parents, and communities often express their gratitude through various activities, such as giving cards, gifts, or organizing special events in schools. It serves as a reminder of the significant impact teachers have on their students' lives and the importance of supporting and valuing educators.
The teachers at Endeavor are a unique group of educators that demand success for their students. The following article and the photos above are just a few examples of their commitment to your child's success. We are blessed and thankful for our teachers at Endeavor.
Endeavor High School Accountability Rating
In Texas, schools are rated on an A-F scale based on their performance in student achievement, school progress, and closing achievement gaps. These ratings, also known as accountability ratings, are released annually by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The ratings are intended to provide information to parents, school boards, and the public about how well schools are performing.
A-F Scale:
Schools receive letter grades from A to F based on their overall performance.
Student Achievement:
This assesses how well students are performing on state standardized tests and whether they are college and career ready.
School Progress:
This evaluates how much students are improving on state tests over time.
Closing the Gaps:
This focuses on how well schools are supporting specific groups of students, such as students with disabilities and English language learners.
Data Sources:
The ratings are based on data from state assessments, graduation rates, and other relevant metrics.
Endeavor High School has once again earned the distinction of being an A rated campus. Endeavor is one of only six alternative education high schools in Harris County to earn this rating. Only 83 alternative education schools state-wide earned an A rating. There are 371 AEC campuses state wide as of April 19, 2024.
Below is a 10 mile radius of alternative educational campuses similar to Endeavor High School and their campus rating.
Edgenuity Saturdays
If any student is working on an Edgenuity class in English 3, English 4 or any other Edgenuity class and needs tests and/or quizzes unlocked in order to progress, may stop by Endeavor High School cafeteria on Saturday between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Mr. Rogers will be here and be available to unlock tests and quizzes as well as help answer any questions.
Only 2 Saturdays remaining! April 26 and May 3. We want to help all students meet the English graduation expectations for the Class of 2025.
If You are Waiting on a STAAR Test Score to Determine Your Graduation Status...
Like the staff at Endeavor, the STAAR test scores can't get here soon enough. That's literally the issue. Graduation is May 16th. We do not expect STAAR scores to be available by then. ALL students who have finished their High School courses and are waiting for scores can walk at graduation.
Once the scores are available to us, we will contact you and your child. If your child has passed, they do not need to do anything else. If they did not pass, we will discuss what steps need to take place in order that your child becomes an official graduate.
We're Moving!
It was proposed to the CISD board of trustees that Endeavor High School be relocated to the McMullan campus.
This alternative has several benefits:
- Room to Grow: Endeavor High School has experienced increased interest and maintains an average waitlist of 60 students. Relocating to McMullan will allow our program to grow and better serve our students.
- Increased Capacity: Approximately 25 classrooms could be dedicated to Endeavor, significantly expanding our space from the 10 classrooms we currently use at Joe Frank Campbell Learning Center.
- Cost-Effective: Since the building would still serve school-aged students, no fire marshal permit change is required, and no major renovations would be needed.
The Board approved this revised plan at their April 15, 2025 Board meeting. We will continue to keep families informed as the project progresses.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement as we work to create stronger, more efficient learning environments for all students in Channelview ISD. The Endeavor staff is excited for the upcoming change! We will begin the 2025 -2026 school year on the McMullin campus.

The last day of school for graduates is Friday, May 9th! It is imperative that your child is attending school everyday until they graduate. At the time of release of this newsletter, there are only 10 days of school remaining for seniors! Please reach out to Mrs. Salinas if you have any questions.
Attention Early Dismissal Students!
Students, as you face the opportunity of an early dismissal, consider this a chance to invest a little extra time in your academic journey. Staying at school after your last class to work on your assignments with your teachers can be incredibly rewarding! This is your moment to clarify doubts, deepen your understanding, and enhance your skills. But mostly, it will get you closer to graduating! Remember, every minute spent collaborating with your teachers brings you closer to your goals. Embrace this opportunity to ask questions, explore new concepts, and build a stronger foundation for your future. Your hard work and dedication will pay off, so seize the day and make the most of this time!
Ask your teachers about staying after your last class.

ACT/SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
