Principal's Message
Hello Yowell Families, this is Mrs. Fiscus with your weekly update!
I also want to take a moment to recognize our grandparents. So many of your parents support your children by attending school events, coming in for lunch, or helping with pick-up and drop-off. Please let them know they are seen, appreciated, and deeply valued. Childhood is often shaped by the love of a grandparent, and we are so thankful for each of them. 💙
Our fall fundraiser wraps up this week, and we are still seeking donations. The best part? This is the kind of fundraiser where you don’t have to go door to door, just make a donation and move on! Playground equipment is incredibly expensive, but every dollar helps us get closer to our goal. Remember, any class that raises $1,000 or more gets to keep $100 of it to spend right away in their classroom. I’ll be honest, soliciting for fundraisers always makes me cringe a little, but this one is for our kids and our school community, so here I am! Thank you for anything you can give to help us finish strong. 🌟
Now a quick word to our curbside families, we want to keep our drop-off and pick-up lines as safe as possible. Please:

Wait for us to open the car doors. This helps us keep eyes on students as they reach the sidewalk and lets me know when to safely move traffic.

Do not change lanes. Drivers are used to the flow staying consistent, and switching lanes could cause accidents or missed students.

In the afternoons, the lines are balanced so we can match students with their cars — please stay in your lane.

In the morning, all cars must go through the line unless you need to walk into the office. Please do not send children across the parking lot and curbside traffic.
Above all, please stay alert and patient as we work together to keep everyone safe.

Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here. Also, this is the direct link to transportation.
Parents of students Pre-K through Grade 3 are expected to meet their children at the bus stop. Failure to do so will result in the child(ren) being returned to school. Should you choose to allow your child(ren) to be dropped off without supervision in the afternoon, please fill out and return this document.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.

School Resource Officer (SRO)
We are happy to have a School Resource Officer (SRO) this year at Yowell. You can contact Deputy Brandon Mack with any concerns you have with school safety or anything that would be related to criminal activity.
