School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)

Over the last few years, the rise of electric micromobility devices has changed the landscape of how children travel in our community. Community leaders and residents have expressed concerns about the safety of these devices and their impact on all community members' safe travel to school. Please take a few moments to consider your own commute to school and the experiences of others traveling to your school each day. Please share your thoughts about the increasing prevalence devices and what you think our community can do to keep each other safe as we travel to school.

Cavalier Orchestra Historic Success at UIL Cavalier Orchestra Historic Success at UIL

Congratulations to the Cavalier Orchestras on an outstanding week at the UIL String Orchestra Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation!

More than 200 College Park students representing all five orchestra ensembles participated in the event. This year marks a historic milestone for our program, as it is the first time every level of our orchestra program has attended the UIL Evaluation.

For those unfamiliar with the process, UIL Orchestra Evaluation is the fine arts equivalent of state testing. Ensembles are judged on their concert performance as well as their ability to sight-read and perform a brand-new piece of music on the spot.

We are proud to share that all five Cavalier orchestras earned a Division I “Superior” rating from every judge in both Concert and Sight-Reading—the highest possible rating at a UIL evaluation. Achieving this level of excellence with such a large group of students speaks to their talent, preparation, and dedication.

Transporting more than 200 students to Klein Oak High School for the event was no small task, and it truly took a team effort. A special thank you to Kelsey Pope, Caprice Stephens, Rachel Banes, Garrett Langthrop, and Shayna Brown for assisting with transportation.

We also extend our gratitude to our substitute teachers and staff who supported our campus while our orchestra directors were away—including those who stepped in to help students prepare, even assisting them in learning how to tie their ties before taking the stage.

Thank you to the entire Cavalier community for supporting our students. Their historic success reflects the strength of the encouragement and pride that surrounds them at College Park.

Congratulations to our students and directors, Emmanuel Coraza and Sarabeth Gheith, on this incredible achievement!

Cavalier Compass is a weekly video from our school counseling team, shared with all students during their Wednesday advisory. Its purpose is to provide resources, encouragement, and real-life skills that support students both in and out of the classroom. Topics range from study habits and course planning to mental health awareness, healthy lifestyles, and digital citizenship. Our goal is to connect with students in a fun, positive way while giving them tools to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

If you have any questions about Cavalier Compass, please reach out to our lead counselor, Kasey Lucas (kllucas@conroeisd.net).

Current Attendance Rate 95.4% Current Attendance Rate 95.4%

Our 24-25 attendance rate was: 94.9%. Our goal for 25-26 is 98%!

CPHS wants All Cavaliers to Achieve. A large part of student success is related to student attendance. We want to teach our Cavs all we can in the days that we have with them. Please encourage your student to attend every period to gain the knowledge they need to be successful. In the event your child does miss school, please be sure to email our attendance office or see the new Student Absence Reporting App information below. Also, please remind your child to get with their teacher about any work they missed. We would also like to remind you that your child will be at risk of losing credit and parents/guardians may have to go to court due to attendance.
