What amazing celebrations of love and friendship we saw all around the school this past week - a visit from the Valentine's Phantom, seen here, has left our building in a great festive mood leading right up to the winter break. We have such a crafty and creative group of kids here - and also many who were so thoughtful to make Valentines for grown-ups, too! Students enrolled in the Bolton Valley ski program enjoyed their first afternoon on the slopes, as well, and had an excellent time.

While this break seems to have snuck up on us a bit, have no doubt that we are already planning for a strong return: kids will come back to a new lunchtime reading program, a school-wide focus on goal setting, and, of course - getting ready for our spring garden! We look forward to sharing many exciting updates with you upon our return. In the meantime, have an excellent February break!

• The fourth grade class will be heading out on a field trip to UES for our first transition activity of the school year next Thursday, 2/22. We will be having snack with some new 4th grade friends at UES and staying for a 5th grade talent show. We will leave at 8:15AM and will return to school around 11AM.
• Winter break is coming up from 2/26 - 3/4. The last day of school will be a full day on Friday, 2/23.
• Please note that the student early dismissal scheduled for April 15th has been moved to April 8th. Bridges care will be available.
• PLEASE CONTINUE SENDING WINTER GEAR! We almost had to cancel Forest Friday this week because so many students are arriving without gloves, etc. - most of our school supply has walked out of the building with students and has not returned, leaving us with very little to lend out to students. Please keep in mind that we still need children coming with appropriate gear through the end of winter to be able to offer this programming safely. Thank you!
• Our garden volunteer work day has been scheduled for Saturday, May 11th, from 9 AM -12 PM.

• High Mowing Seeds Fundraiser - Wraps up this TUESDAY (2/20)! Please send order forms, with payment (checks payable to RVS PTO) back with kiddos to the school so that we can get the order submitted! Seeds should be back in a few weeks!
• Town Meeting Luncheon - Sign-up to help, contribute food or provide supplies at this link. Any and all contributions are appreciated - proceeds support the school garden
• Add these to your calendar - next Caregivers Group meeting March 12th (5:15 @Good Measure), Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10 and Spring Garden Clean Up Day May 11th.

Hello RVS Families! Please come to a Community Supper this Friday night, February 23rd, 5-7 p.m. at the Roxbury Community Hall (1642 Route 12A, a couple doors south of Randy's). The supper is FREE and ALL are WELCOME. The Community Supper is a project of Roxbury Roots, a 10+ year old initiative started by Roxburians seeking to revive community connections through the land and local food. Community Suppers are held the last Friday of every month; if you cannot make it this Friday, put our next dinner, March 29th, on your calendar.

Interested to volunteer with food preparation and set-up? Kids are welcome. Contact us at roxburyrootsvt@gmail.com. For this week's supper, volunteers will meet Thursday 2/22 4-7 p.m. and Friday 2/23 @ 3 p.m. We would love to have you!

The HOPE Coalition has been in contact to share with the Roxbury community that they are providing support in the form of relief supplies, clothing, fresh produce and shelf-stable foods, all at no cost. They are located at 297 Vine Street in Berlin and are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-4PM. Folks seeking more info can visit www.hopecoalition.net.

All regularly scheduled meetings begin at 6:30pm. Board Members will either be participating virtually or in-person. This meeting will be held at MHS.
