We are looking forward to many great events and activities in February, including Valentine's Day and the 100th Day of School! Please remember to continue to send your child in with appropriate winter clothing as they will go outside for recess, gym, and gross motor when possible.
When your child will be absent from school please call the absence hotline, even if you have already messaged the teacher. The absence hotline can be reached by dialing the main Potter number at (732) 269-5700 and choosing option 1.
Please continue to follow all standard procedures when picking up and dropping off on Deal Ave. There is no parking permitted on the right side of the street from Red Bank to the crosswalk during arrival and dismissal. If you must park you are asked to do so past the crosswalk. Please utilize the crosswalk at all times when crossing, and do not let children exit the vehicle in the middle of the street. We appreciate your cooperation as safety is our number on priority.
Over the coming month, attendance letters will go home to students who have missed more than 10% of the school year at this point (10 days). Each year I get several questions about this practice. These letters go home so that we are all on the same page regarding your child's attendance. If your child has had an extended absence due to illness that has been documented via doctor's notes, etc. then there is no need for concern. Please continue to monitor your child's attendance so that absences do not become excessive. We will be in contact you to set up a meeting if needed. As always, our students are most successful when we all work together!
Calendar Change
Due to the recent snow days our district calendar has been updated. We will now have four hour sessions on Monday February 16 and Friday April 3. Dismissal will be at 1:15pm on both days.
Preschool and Kindergarten Registration
Preschool and kindergarten registration is February 17-20. If your child already attends school in the district they do not need to register. Your child must be 3 or 4 years old by October 1, 2026 for preschool and 5 by October 1, 2026 for kindergarten. See the graphic below for additional information.
Harlem Wizards Game
On Tuesday March 10 staff from H & M Potter School will be partnering with other local districts to play against the Harlem Wizards! This is a fun event for all, and will be hosted at Central Regional High School. Tickets can be purchased by clicking the link below. Please make sure to select that you are from H & M Potter School, as a portion of each ticket sale will be donated to our PTA. Thank you!

February 11: Pajama Day Spirit Day and Fundraiser for CHOP
February 12: Spirit Day, Wear Red for Carly
February 16: Four Hour Session, Dismissal at 1:15pm
February 17: 100th day of School!
February 27: PTA Glow Dance Grades 1-4, See flyer that will be sent home
February 28: Progress Reports Display on the Parent Portal
