A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
Thank you all for your incredible support and flexibility during our eLearning day today. I hope everyone stayed safe and warm while the weather kept us home. It was wonderful to see our community pivot so smoothly, and I hope your students found the activities provided by their teachers both engaging and meaningful. Your partnership at home is what makes these transitions successful, ensuring that learning continues regardless of the conditions outside.
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody
Principal
This week, K–2 students used robots to bring stories and music to life. Kindergartners and 1st graders used Bee-Bots to code custom "bug dances" and create digital art, while 2nd graders used "loops" to program Dash robots to perform the Macarena. These activities are a great way for students to practice planning out steps and fixing mistakes when their code doesn't work the first time.

Severe sore throat (could be strep throat even without fever. Children often experience headache & stomach ache prior to sore throat). Contact your pediatrician to assess or diagnose strep throat.

New Year, Fresh Start
Update on Proposed Redwood Development in Round Lake
Fremont has been working with Village of Round Lake officials as they explore a proposal by Redwood LLC for a multi-family rental development. This project is intended to be a 138-unit apartment neighborhood on a vacant 20-acre parcel off Route 60 adjacent to Lakewood Grove. If approved, this would be the first multi-family rental property within the district’s boundaries expected to generate 23 K-8 students.
Fremont has been in ongoing discussions with Round Lake officials since initiating contact in early December. To date, the Village has been open, transparent, and collaborative. A summary of the conversations and more information can be found via our Residential Developments webpage.
We will continue to keep our community informed as further updates become available.
