MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Families and Students,
With just two weeks remaining in the first grading quarter, this is a great time to review your student’s progress in Infinite Campus. Please have conversations with them about any missing work and encourage them to finish the quarter strong.
TACKLE PROJECT
I’m incredibly proud to share that the Chardon High School football team, led by their TACKLE project manager Kim Vujaklija, donated an amazing 165 boxes of cookies to the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital. This generous act of kindness is another great example of service learning at CHS, and it reflects the strong character of our students and staff. A big thank you to Mrs. V and the team for their efforts!
TOPPER DOGS
Chef Fawcett and Sous-chef McDevitt were back in action this morning, cooking and serving over 150 hot dogs to students and staff to start their Friday. A special shout-out to Mr. Robertson, who brought his entire class out to kick off their morning with a Topper Dog.
BOYS SOCCER TEAM
Our boys soccer team is on an incredible 10-game winning streak, bringing their current record to 12-1-1 . This is the most wins for Chardon since the 2006 team went 13-3. The team will travel to Bainbridge, Next Tuesday, October 8, vs. Kenston for the WRC Title. If they win, it will mark the first-ever soccer banner hung in The Barn.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the school administration.
HILLTOPPER MIND'S MATTER
Hilltoppers Minds Matter is doing a candy gram fundraiser at the football game on October 4th. Parents of high school and middle school students will have the opportunity to send a candy gram to their student by purchasing the candy grams at the game on Friday night! All proceeds will go to Morgans Message, an organization that collaborates with student-athlete ambassadors to break the stigma and raise awareness around mental health.
In addition to candy grams HMM is going to be raffling off a few items, at the October 4th game, one of which being a fantastic bucket of car wash gift cards and supplies. Donated by Zappy’s Auto Wash.

NORTHEAST OHIO COLLEGE & CAREER FAIR
On Wednesday, 45 Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to attend the Northeast Ohio College & Career Fair at Kent State University. Representatives from approximately 100 colleges and universities, as well as career preparatory programs and military groups, were available to answer questions from interested students. As part of this trip, students were also able to attend a financial aid presentation hosted by Kent State , receive a tour of the campus, and finish the visit with lunch at the Eastway Dining Hall. Special thank you to Brandi Giddings for helping to coordinate this event.
MANUFACTURING EXPO
On Thursday, 20 students (grades 8-12) had the opportunity to attend the Think Manufacturing Expo hosted at Mentor High School. Sponsored by Steris and Swagelok, students attended a panel discussion with four young professionals who shared about their roles and career advice. Representatives from approximately 50 companies were present afterwards to meet with students, explain what their companies do, and have demonstrations of their small machines and other interactive presentations. We hope the students had a chance to explore some different career interests, network with local companies, and maybe even come away with some potential job opportunities!
