Principal's Corner
Dear Hirsch Hawk Parents and Guardians,
When home and school work together, our students thrive. Strong family-school partnerships are connected to improved academic achievement, better attendance, and stronger student motivation. Even small things—asking about your child’s day, reading together, and staying connected with the teacher—make a difference.
We are excited to welcome you to Open House on September 30! Come see the great things happening at Hirsch and learn more about how your child is growing and learning.
All families will begin in the cafeteria with a brief Title I Meeting. Afterward, families will visit classrooms until 7:00 p.m.
Since our classroom time is limited, here are a few questions to help guide your conversation:
PK–2 Families
- What is my child doing well, and what is one area for growth?
- What can we do at home to support reading and math?
- How is my child participating and interacting in class?
Grades 3–5 Families
- What is my child’s greatest academic strength right now?
- What skill should we focus on strengthening at home?
- How can I help my child take greater ownership of their learning?
Thank you for partnering with us. We look forward to seeing you at Open House and sharing the wonderful things our Hawks are learning each day!
With Hawk Pride,
Principal Patterson
Hirsch Elementary
P.S. Our annual candy collection drive starts this week. We are collecting candy for our Fall Festival! Let's see which House (Kolo, Ireti, Bondade, or Mahalo) can collect the most! Please have your child place the donated candy in the monster collection bins that match their House color!
