Proviso Proud!!!
Greetings from the Proviso West Principal and Assistant Principals!
We are off to a great start to the school year! Students have participated in town hall meetings by grade level to learn about important school information from their counselors and class sponsors; counselors have been doing a fantastic job assisting students with their schedules; and teachers and security have been diligent about being in the hallways to support students with getting to class on time. This wraparound approach benefits students and makes our school community run like a fine oiled machine. We are excited to reignite the Panther Pride at Proviso West!
Building a Strong Start Together!
The first week of school has been filled with energy, excitement, and a strong sense of community. Students are returning with fresh goals, and our administrators are setting the tone for a positive and safe environment where all students can thrive. One of our main focuses this year is striving to be better in all that we do. This means keeping students at the center of every decision, making sure they have the tools and support they need to succeed, and helping them grow with confidence in all that they do.
Parents, your involvement plays a big role in student success. One of the most important tools for families is PowerSchool, our online portal where you can view your child’s grades, attendance, class schedule, and more. You can also use PowerSchool to connect directly with teachers. Every parent should have access to this resource to stay engaged and informed throughout the school year.
At the bottom of this newsletter, you will find links to useful resources, including PowerSchool, Schoology, transportation, lunch menus, and much more. We also encourage you to get involved in our parent organizations, such as the Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Your voice matters, and together we can continue to build a strong school community.
For questions about PowerSchool or other resources, please contact our Parent Coordinator, Gail Hibbler, at ghibbler@pths209.org or call 708-427-8247.
