Upcoming Open House

Open House will occur next week on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. We are excited to welcome you into our classrooms to see the amazing instruction occurring.

We are offering two different time slots: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Please choose whichever part of the school day works best for your schedule to observe our classrooms.SY 26-27 Comprehensive Schedule

At 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM, families will have the opportunity to "snack and chat" with administration. Please complete this this brief survey to share the topics you are most interested in learning more about.

As a reminder, Open House is geared toward adults. To ensure we are able to comfortably accommodate all families, please plan for a brief drop-in visit within your chosen time slot rather than staying for the entire two hours.

The MKPC PTA READ-A-THON

Our Read-A-Thon starts next week!!! We’re excited to see every student dive into a world of books, stories, and reading adventures. All families read differently — whether a caregiver reads to your student, your student reads independently, or you're listening to an audiobook, everyone can participate with a chance to win prizes! Last year, our students read and logged over 80,000 minutes - this year we have a goal to reach 100,000 minutes! Don't forget to log your student's reading minutes (fundraising not required to participate for reading prizes).

To activate your student's account to log reading minutes, you should have received flyers home in your student's folder with more information, or you can use the link below. If you have more than one reader, once set up, you should be able to flip between accounts easily. https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/IyebzD?utm=email

Districtwide Culture and Climate Survey

At Pine Crest, we value our partnership with families and know that your voice plays a vital role in helping us create the best possible learning environment for all students.

We invite you to share your feedback by participating in the Family Survey. This short survey gives you the opportunity to share your experiences and opinions about our school and the broader school district. Your honest input will help us understand what’s working well and where we can improve.

The survey is easy to complete, takes only a few minutes, and your responses are completely confidential. The results will be used to guide our efforts in strengthening programs, services, and supports for students and families.

The survey is open from November 8, 2026 through November 20, 2026.

Please look out for the upcoming climate survey in your email. It will be sent to the primary email address linked to your child’s student profile.

We deeply appreciate your time and commitment to our school community. Your feedback makes a difference!

MCPS Is on the Rise! More Schools Earn Top STAR Ratings
Big news worth celebrating! 134 MCPS schools, nearly 69%, earned 4 or 5 STAR ratings on the 2026 Maryland School Report Card. Fifty-six schools improved their STAR ratings, including 50 that reached four or five STARs. Even better, ZERO MCPS schools received a 1-STAR rating! These results reflect the hard work of our students, educators and school communities, with important gains in reading and math across the district.
