Teacher Spotlight- Mr. Koch
by Allie
Mr. Koch is our new 3rd grade teacher. He has a wife and three kids, a senior and twin freshman. He graduated from Clinton High School where he played football, baseball, and wrestled. After high school he spent time at the Air Force academy, and then got his teaching degree at UCM. After UCM he went to William Woods to get his masters. He spent a total of 7 ½ years in College. He also has his Math and PE certifications. He has taught 8th grade and high school for 28 years where he also coached football, Cross country, wrestling, and track. He then retired for a bit. This year he felt like he had more to give and God called him to come teach 3rd grade at CCA. His hobbies include watching sports, building wood projects and occasional metal work. When asked his favorite Bible verse he replied “The verse that is most important at this moment is Isaiah 41:10."Don't be afraid, for I am with you; don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will surely help you; I will hold you with my victorious right hand." The transition back to Clinton was important to my family, but with all transition comes challenges that require more strength than I alone possess. The Lord is my strength.”

Where is the LOVE?
by Mackenzie
This month's character trait is Love. In 1 John 4:8, John tells us that whoever does not love, does not know God, for God is love. We asked some students the question, “What is something often misunderstood about love?”

Chapel Notes
By Sarah
Friday, September 12th at chapel, the Belize mission team shared about their experience. They helped build a church, they also helped that church with small repairs and painting. They hosted a VBS, which had about 50 kids attend. A fun activity that they did was snorkeling with sharks and stingrays!! We are so thankful for this mission team and all they did in Belize. We pray that the impact they had on us and we had on them, will help us all grow closer to God.
Today, Mr. Patterson spoke about the Parable of the Lost Sheep, as found in Luke 15. He reminded all of us that "the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost." We that claim to be Christians should stand out and boldly show our world Christ!
Charlie Kirk
By Sarah and Mackenzie
Charlie Kirk was born on October 14th, 1993, in Arlington Heights, IL. He went to Harper College but dropped out to focus on his conservative activism and political work. Charlie Kirk was a conservative Christian. There are many videos of him talking about Jesus and how Jesus has changed his life. Charlie Kirk was married to Erika Lane Frantzve. Charlie Kirk had 2 kids, one daughter and one son.
Charlie Kirk was a hugely successful political activist, TikTok influencer, radio host, and posted on many other social media platforms. Kirk cared so much about the American youth and promoted Christian values and right-wing agendas. His death has impacted many of us greatly. On September 10th, Charlie Kirk was at the University of Utah speaking in debates about mass shootings and gun violence when the shot rang out. His wife and children were there as he died, but we all know he is with Jesus now. As Christians, we should now ask ourselves how we live our lives daily. Please be praying for his family and the future of America.
S'mores!
by Allie
It's getting about that time to start having bonfires and late night talks while your kids are munching on sticky smores! We all love fall bonfires and yummy marshmallows! The name "smores" is a contraction of “some more” which reflects the treats irresistableness. The first recipe for smores was published in 1972 in the girlscouts handbook. It has become such a popular treat that it has its own day, August 10th is known as national smores day! So this fall as you're enjoying your late night bonfire smores, maybe share with your friends the history of smores!
