'Drawing' Updates

Drawing has been significantly updated:

  • External links (websites, youtube, etc.) create image thumbnails
  • Up to 20 slides per drawing
  • Record up to 5 minutes of embedded video on each slide
  • Voice recording now can cover multiple pages and creates a cover video on slide 1
  • Students and Teachers can save a 'draft'
  • "Undo' and 'Redo' buttons

Google Slides added from Drive open in Drawing and the above tools can apply to the slides.

Student Activity Calendar and 'To Do' list

Students now have a "To Do," "In Progress," "Done," and "Calendar" view of their activities in each class. This will help students with assignment organization.

Teachers also now have a Calendar view for activities. This allows teachers to click on a day to see what activities were assigned and see student submissions.

*If not yet visible in your account, updates are live for all on the 15th. Make sure your iPad/iPhone apps are updated then as well--district devices should update automatically.

Seesaw Calendar

In addition to the Activity Calendar, the Journal feed also has a calendar view. Click on a date to see a thumbnail of each student submission for that day. This is one way to track assignment completion.

Nightly Syncing and Customized Classes

Seesaw and other applications typically sync with Clever each evening/morning. These 'Soft Syncs' add new students and transfer students from one school to another. A Soft Sync does not affect custom work to your classes such as co-teachers and students you have manually added from other classes.

From time to time, a 'Hard Sync' happens. This is more likely at the beginning of the year as new sections and staff are added to Synergy, but this can also be prompted by data errors. A Hard Sync can (but not always) overwrite custom work in your Seesaw class.

If you see you are missing coteachers in your class or you have been removed as a coteacher in another class, use 'manage teachers' in settings to reconnect.

If other issues happen that appear difficult to fix, contact Steve Simpson
