It's hard to believe, but Friday, October 9th will mark the end of our first grading cycle. It has been a wonderful start to the school year, the students are acclimated, the teachers are in a groove, and fall weather is just around the corner! (we hope... :)

Many students have recognized that attending Academic Coaching/Tutoring sessions weekly can be helpful in classes that might be a bit challenging. Please continue to encourage your child to attend these sessions, and see the link below for available tutoring (academic coaching) times.

Our students have done a great job settling into the day-to-day practice of being "back-to-school." I want to thank you for all you do and continue to do at home to support your child's education.

Day after day, our children never cease to amaze me with their resilience, determination, and hope; these are definitely attributes that I recognize and hold dear. It is truly a privilege to be their Principal.

The month of October is always a fun-filled time at Rawlinson. This year will prove to be just as spectacular with multiple events and activities for students and families to choose from.

Here are just a few:

• Patriot Games -meets- Fall Family Night - Thursday, Oct. 8 (STEAM Night: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)
• Scholastic Book Fair - M-TR, Oct. 5-8
• NISD Fall Break: Fri. Oct. 9- Tues. Oct. 13 (students return to school, Wed., Oct. 14)
• Red Ribbon Week - M-F, Oct. 26-30
• Red Ribbon Rallies, Fri., Oct. 30: DEA Counter Drug Operations Unit
• Creepy Café in the Library every Friday morning in October. (seats limited, tickets in ELA class)
• Theatre's Haunted House in the Theatre room every Friday morning in October. (tickets in Science)
• Basketball tryouts
• 6th Grade Dance, Thurs., Oct. 15
• EF Tours Information Meeting, Wed., Oct. 21
• Rawlinson Night at the Spurs game: Tues., Oct. 27
