Health Exam Requirements - Deadline Approaching

The health and safety of our students is always our top priority. This email is a reminder of the dental exam requirements for certain grade levels.

All kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, and 9th grade students must have a dental exam completed by a licensed dentist before May 15th of the school year. In partnership with the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), CPS offers on-site, preventative dental services at no cost to ALL Pre-K-12th grade students. The CPS Office of Student Health and Wellness (OSHW) assigns a dentist to most schools, or schools can request a dentist to come to the school. View the dental services and requirement letter for more information and dental resources. Additional resources include low-cost/no-cost dental care for students.

If students have a private dentist, parents must return the completed Proof of Dental Examination Form from their dentist's office to the school by May 1, 2025, to allow enough time for the school or OSHW to enter the student information into the ASPEN data system.

All the services OSHW offers are outlined at cps.edu/oshw. If families need help enrolling their child in health insurance, they can call the Healthy CPS Hotline at 773 553-KIDS (5437) or visit cps.edu/cfbu.

CPS School Year Spring Survey

At CPS, we are committed to including our families and staff in our decision-making. Surveys have always played a vital role in ensuring that all voices are heard. This year, we’re simplifying and streamlining multiple surveys into one SY25 Spring Survey.

The Spring Survey is divided into three parts: capital improvements, school climate, and Title I parent engagement. Each section of the survey should take 5–10 minutes to complete. Please note that each section should be done in one sitting because your data won’t be saved if you close your browser. The survey will close on May 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Littering Around School

We love our community and take pride in our students and school - as of late, a number of neighbors have reported an increase in litter on their properties and around Beaubien. We care deeply about our environment and neighborhood and kindly ask for your help in keeping our community litter-free. A timely reminder with Earth Day this week (see below).
