Junior Model UN
Recently, members of the LCMS Jr. Model UN Club took an exciting field trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where they had the opportunity to view collections of artwork from around the world. This trip served as the initial step in participating in the Jr. Model UN experience. The exhibits helped build an understanding of global cultures, which is a vital piece when participating in the Jr. Model UN Club.
During the visit, students worked in groups to analyze the different art pieces, learning how art reflects the values, beliefs, and histories of different societies. Special attention was given to the Asian Art exhibit as all students are a part of the “Japan Delegation” in the Model UN setting. The students particularly liked the Japanese Tea House, the Medieval Armour Room, and early American artifacts. After the museum tour, all schools gathered together to discuss their findings and to make connections with their own cultures.
Our next field trip is to Temple University in March to learn about diplomacy. Included will be how to be a representative for their assigned country and propose resolutions to meet goals set by the United Nations for the world.
Counseling Corner
This week we were in 6th and 7th grade classrooms talking with students about course selection for next year. We assigned them a drag sheet to fill out for their expo courses and encouraged them to talk with their parents/guardians about their choices. On the drag sheet (students can access it through their Social Studies Canvas page) there is a link to our Program of Studies to provide you with more information about the courses we offer. Students will be required to complete the drag sheet by Friday, 2/13.

WIDA Testing
Hello LCMS Families:
Beginning on January 5, 2026, the Centennial School District will begin the annual WIDA ACCESS (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State) testing window for our English Learners (ELs). The WIDA ACCESS is a PDE mandated and federally reported assessment of English Language Proficiency (ELP). The families of our English learners will receive an email communication regarding the assessment from our Supervisor of Student Services, Althea Tomlinson.
Our school testing dates are: 1/26/26-2/13/26
The WIDA ACCESS assessment is an important tool that guides the individualized instruction of our English learners. If you have any questions about the assessment, you can reach out directly to your child’s English Language Development (ELD) teacher.
If your child is an English Learner, here are some things you can do to help your child prepare for the WIDA ACCESS:
Be sure your child/children are receiving an adequate amount of sleep during the testing dates
Be sure your child/children eat breakfast each morning before testing
Be sure your child/children bring their school issued electronic device fully charged to school every day
Encourage your child do their very best on the assessment
The GIANT Company, Round Up For Hunger
Centennial School District is proud to participate in the GIANT Feeding School Kids campaign!
From January 1 through March 31, shoppers can round up their purchase at the register at the
GIANT stores in Warminster and Southampton to support Centennial School District’s efforts to
combat childhood hunger.
Join us in making a difference—together, we can help ensure every child has access to the
nutrition they need to succeed.
