Whiteside News

Our Kids Heart Challenge program has come to a close and we are immensely grateful for your support!

A heartfelt thank you to our Whiteside Elementary families for your involvement in any way you were able. Because of you, our community has achieved something incredible:

• Together, 65 families joined in and raised $ 4310.75 in lifesaving donations for the American Heart Association to help people everywhere live longer, healthier lives.
• More than 18 families in our school have learned lifesaving skills like Hands-Only CPR and how to recognize the warning signs of a stroke.

We are proud to bring these healthy habits and lifesaving skills into our community and we couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for being part of our mission to build healthier hearts, big and small.

Whiteside is incredibly proud to honor Mrs. Idina Phillips as our 2025–26 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Phillips is the kind of educator who leads with her heart and gives her all to her students every single day. She goes above and beyond—always—creating meaningful, lasting relationships with students and families. We are so grateful for her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our kids.

We are thrilled to recognize Mrs. Grace Nunez as our 2025–26 Paraprofessional of the Year! Mrs. Nunez is truly a blessing to our entire campus, supporting students and teachers with kindness, care, and unwavering dedication. Her calm, steady presence brings comfort and encouragement to all who know her, and it’s no surprise that students and staff alike absolutely adore her. We are so grateful for the positivity, compassion, and heart she brings to our school each day.

Seven Lubbock ISD schools were named to the ERP Texas Honor Roll for closing achievement gaps and outperforming peers! Congratulations to Whiteside Elementary!
