The Weekly Highlander 2025-2026
Volume #30
A Message from the Principal
Dear Highlander Families:
This week we celebrated two amazing community volunteers, our PTA President, Sandra Boyd and School Resource Officer, Deputy Vasquez. There are many ways for you to engage with the Highlander Community and we would love to help you to find your passion and support our school. The PTA is in need of parent volunteers for International Week, March 16th - 20th, specifically to help with the International Fair on Friday, March 20th. Our PTA Nominating Committee is busy at work to find volunteers for many positions on our PTA Executive Board for the 2026-2027 school year. There is additional information in this newsletter for both opportunties, we hope you can share your time and talents with our students and families.
Please stay connected to Hewes by checking our website and following us on Instagram @heweshighlanders for the latest information and news.

Highlander for a Day is a recognition program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments of Winning the Day the Highlander Way. Students are recognized for working hard, including others, never giving up, controlling their responses, choosing to act above the line, and taking extreme ownership of their 20 square feet. These are the habits and mindsets that shape our Highlander culture, and we are so proud to share them with our entire school community.
