A note from the principal A note from the principal

Osseo Schools to host next Community Conversation on February 3rd.

Mark your calendars – the next Community Conversation is set to take place Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. at Osseo Middle School. Community Conversations are being held this school year to better understand from family and community members what’s going well and what needs improvement as well as ensuring all feel valued and heard. District leadership and school board members host the events.

In the meantime, it’d be great to hear from you on what you think about our schools via this Google form. Your responses will help us form the discussion topics for the Feb. 3 conversation. Additionally, please share your name if you’re planning to attend.

During each Community Conversation, the team will be focused on listening to understand. The goal is to help inform our team of the why behind what is working well and what areas of growth are needed. Knowing this information will guide us toward improving our day-to-day work, making necessary adjustments and continuing to become the best place to learn.

A summary of the results will be shared community-wide after this year’s final conversation in May. Thank you, in advance, for your partnership on this journey.

Congratulations to the Math League! Congratulations to the Math League!

Congratulations to Ms. Richter and the Osseo Middle School Math League who recently participated in the Minnesota Junior High School Mathematics League with outstanding results. The OMS team included 15 students, and by the end of the season, one team earned 1st place overall, while a second team finished 6th overall among all competitors.

Individually, OMS students also stood out. KC Williams and Drew Erickson placed in the top 10 overall, and Parker Lintgen took home 1st place individually.

Congratulations to these students for their hard work, dedication, and impressive achievements in mathematics!

Attention parents of 6th graders, the Meningococcal and Tdap vaccines are required prior to 7th grade and the HPV vaccine is strongly encouraged. January is even HPV Cancer Prevention month. Please schedule your student’s required vaccine and/or plan for them for their well child visits prior to 7th grade.

  • CDC Childhood Vaccine Schedule Changes. The CDC childhood vaccine schedules have always been recommendations and continue to be so. MN state law requires that students have the vaccines listed on https://www.health.state.mn.us/people/immunize/basics/readyk12.pdf

  • This year’s flu season is bad. If you vaccinate, I strongly encourage you to get your Flu and Covid vaccines and keep your students home if they are sick.
