EAGLE NEWS
Valley View Leadership Academy
Thank You for a Fantastic Fall Festival!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Fall Festival! Both the Costume Parade and the Trunk-or-Treat event went above and beyond our expectations. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and school spirit truly brought our campus to life and showcased what it means to live and love the Eagle Way at VVLA.
Events like these remind us of the power of community and the joy that comes from coming together to celebrate our students and families. We are grateful for the support of our staff, parents, volunteers, and community partners who made this day such a success. We look forward to hosting more positive, community-centered events in the future that continue to strengthen our connection and make VVLA a place where everyone feels they belong.

Testing, Testing, 1,2,3,4...Testing
The second round of District DNA Benchmark Assessments is quickly approaching! Testing will take place Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 7, 2025. In addition, CoGAT gifted testing will be administered on Tuesday and Thursday of the same week.
Please ensure that students arrive on time each day, have a nutritious breakfast, and are ready to show what they know. These assessments provide valuable insight into student growth and help guide instruction moving forward.
Following the completion of benchmark testing, STAR progress monitoring will take place to provide additional data on student progress and continued areas of focus. Thank you for your support in helping our students perform their best!

Student Meal Updates
Free Breakfast and Lunch
VVLA Community,
We understand that recent cuts to SNAP funding and the temporary lapse in benefits may cause concern for many of our Roosevelt families. Please rest assured that all Roosevelt students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch every school day, regardless of any changes to SNAP.
While Child Nutrition Services is a federally funded program, student meals are not funded through SNAP benefits. Our meal programs will continue to operate as usual, ensuring that every student has access to healthy, nutritious meals at no cost.

📚 Read to the Final Four! 🏀
We’re excited to announce that our 3rd grade students are participating in the Read to the Final Four program—an exciting literacy challenge that combines the love of reading with the spirit of friendly competition! Sponsored in partnership with the NCAA, this program encourages students to strengthen their reading skills as they compete against other schools for a chance to advance through tournament-style rounds leading up to the Final Four.
Throughout the competition, students will log their reading minutes, set personal goals, and celebrate their progress along the way. Families can support by encouraging daily reading at home and helping students track their minutes consistently.
We’re proud of our young readers and can’t wait to see how far they advance in the Read to the Final Four challenge—go Eagles! 🦅📖
