First Grade NewsOctober 25 - November 1, 2024

Welcome to First Grade! Welcome to First Grade!

A few reminders:

- Veterans Day - Friday, November 1st 9:00-10:00

- Early Dismissal - Friday, November 1st @ 11:40.

-Red Ribbon Week - watch for info about each special day. See info below.

-Field Trip to Sunset Hill Tree Farm is on Thursday, November 14th.

-We love celebrating birthdays in class but please make sure student is only bring cupcakes/treat. No goody bags please!

- If your child eats breakfast at school, please try to have them here by 7:20 This is so they can finish eating by 7:40, when class starts.

-Please sign Take Home folders every day. If there have been behavior issues, please discuss them with your child and encourage growth in those areas

-If students are changing the way they go home one day, please email me or call the school. We want to make sure we get the students in the right spot at dismissal.

-We encourage all students to bring water bottles to drink in class. It helps to have them conveniently located in lockers. Please make sure they bring water and not juice. Students can have juice/other drinks at lunch but we prefer water in class. Spills make for a sticky mess and attract ants.

- Please have your child refrain from bringing toys to school. The items needed for classroom activities will be provided. If there is a special occasion where an item should be brought from home, you will receive prior notice. Thanks for monitoring that situation!

-Thank you for being awesome parents/guardians. We are so grateful to be partnering with you on this important journey.

Don't forget to read every night! (See a link down below for an interesting and helpful article about getting a reading routine at home.)
