Travis Kinkead takes 3rd in State Wrestling! Travis’s journey to this remarkable achievement has been nothing short of impressive. He finished the regular season with an outstanding 12-1 record and went on to place second at the Regional competition. Last weekend, he made history by pinning every opponent he faced, becoming the first Glenview Gator to win a Sectional title. Notably, he is only the third student from our school to advance to the State meet.

At the IESA State Championship this weekend, Travis faced tough competition, although he ultimately lost to the eventual State champion, he finished his season with a commendable record of 25-3. Remarkably, all his losses this season were to the top two wrestlers in the state.

This week schools across the state of Illinois will be kicking off State Testing - GMS is no different and we are excited to see the gains that our students are making. It is important for students to do their very best as these tests are an indicator of their learning. We have planned some incentives for students and will wrap-up the testing window at GMS with a Gator Swamp FUN Day on Friday, March 21. Students can earn up to 10 points a day during the testing window to earn their way to the FUN Day.

We do ask that students be to school each day by 7:55am and that they have their Chromebook changed to at least 50%. These are two areas where students can earn points daily. Please see the complete criteria below.

We wish students the very best, they have all worked very hard to be ready for these exams.

The end of QTR 3 is this Friday, March 14 - this is always a great time to review grades and Work Habits. Reach out to teachers if you have any questions or woould like to know how you can better help your student.
