Message from Mrs. Russell
Gratitude and Teamwork
This month our CKH focus has been on teamwork and I truly believe MPMS is a place where TEAM means everything. Everyday I see people working together to achieve goals and make progress. I see students helping other students in classes and at lunch, I notice teachers finding ways to connect with their classes and I see our support staff doing all the little things behind the scenes that make a BIG impact. None of this is possible without each person; the kids, the families, the employees of MPMS all working WITH each other to make this a place that everyone feels safe, supported and has the ability to learn/teach. Thank you for being a part of the team!

CKH FAMILY SURVEY
At Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, all of our schools use the Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) process to build strong relationships, create a positive school culture, and ensure every student feels connected, valued, and supported. Through CKH strategies—like Greetings, Good Things, Social Contracts, and Launches—we work to create classrooms and school communities where students thrive both academically and socially.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we invite you to share your thoughts in the CKH Family Survey. Your feedback helps us understand how our CKH practices are experienced by families and how they impact students’ connections and sense of belonging.
We truly value your voice! Your input helps us celebrate what’s going well and identify ways to keep growing together as a district family. Take the survey here: CKH FAMILY SURVEY

Drug & Vaping Awareness
Don’t do it! Vaping can seriously damage your lungs, and many vape products contain nicotine and other addictive chemicals. Marijuana use can impact your memory, focus, and motivation, making it harder to perform in school, sports, and other activities you care about.
It’s also important to remember that this can lead to both school discipline and legal consequences. Possessing or using these substances, especially on school grounds, is against school policy and the law.
Making smart choices now protects your health, keeps you out of trouble, and sets you up for greater success in the future. Saying “no” isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.
Stay safe!
Officer Leonard

TRAVELING STUDENT INFO
MPMS Accelerated Math Program and MPMS French Students Attendance on Days with an Irregular Schedule
For Elementary Students Attending MPMS
These students WILL NOT attend on most days that alter the daily schedule, including delay days, half days, and days where MPMS students start with first hour. One issue is that there may not be a bus available to transport them back to their elementary schools. Another issue on delay days is that they will be finished with their MPMS math class long before their elementary start time.
The only exception to this rule will be days where they will be taking their trimester exams. They will indeed attend on exam days, even with the change in schedule.
For MPMS Students Attending MPHS
These students WILL NOT attend on delay days, half days, and all other irregular days unless otherwise instructed by their MPHS Math/French teacher.
