All SaintsOutreach News

December 2021

This Advent has been one filled with gratitude. So thankful for all the hands and hearts that came together to make our Advent giving programs a success. From feeding families at Walker High School to making sure our friends at Pioneer Court had personalized gifts to open, your generosity made it all possible. Thank you! This month, may we emulate St. Juan Diego in not only spreading the Good News but living it. St. Juan Diego, pray for us!

St. Juan Diego

"God counted on Juan Diego to play a humble, yet huge role in bringing the Good News to the peoples of Mexico. Overcoming his own fear and the doubts of Bishop Juan de Zumarraga, Juan Diego cooperated with God’s grace in showing his people that the Good News of Jesus is for everyone. Pope John Paul II used the occasion of Juan Diego's beatification to urge Mexican lay people to assume their responsibilities for passing on the Good News and witnessing to it."

Saint Juan Diego

Saint Juan Diego

Thousands of people gathered in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe July 31, 2002, for the canonization of Juan Diego, to whom the Blessed Mother appeared in the 16th century. Pope John Paul II celebrated the ceremony at which the poor Indian peasant became the Church's first saint indigenous to the Americas.

Appeal for the Poor

Catholic Community Services (CCS) and Catholic Housing Services (CHS) are official human service outreach arms of the Catholic Church in Western Washington. Under the leadership of Archbishop Paul D. Etienne and Boards of Trustees, staff and volunteers answer the Gospel call to loving and compassionate service with particular concern for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and for the dignity of the human person. Please consider supporting them today.

Feast of the Holy Family Resources

The Feast of the Holy Family falls every year on the Sunday after Christmas (this year, it will be the next day!) It is a day that reminds us to follow the example of the Holy Family in our words and actions, especially in this Year of Amoris Laetitia Family.

We pray to our Lord Jesus through the intercession of His Mother and St. Joseph for the protection of our families and for their blessing on us, especially upon those families suffering adversity at this time.

Spotlight on Seattle Seafarers' Center

Seafarers of all ages and nationalities work an average of 80 hours a week (plus overtime) to bring us these necessary goods and as an international population, are often exploited. With an average of 30 ships a month coming into the Port of Seattle, Mission to Seafarers serves those who work on board cargo, container ships, and bulk carriers by providing essential human services. Learn more about their needs or make a donation here.
