Every year, each of the 32 NFL clubs nominates a high school coach for the Don Shula NFL Coach of the Year Award, named after Pro Football Hall of Famer Don Shula, the winningest coach in NFL history.
The nominated coaches are selected and judged based on values that Coach Shula excelled in during his career — character, integrity, leadership, dedication to the community, commitment to player health and safety and on-field success.
Coach Clausen was surprised with the LA Rams Don Shula Coach of the Year recognition by Rams Legend Andrew Whitworth who presented him with the honor along with two Super Bowl tickets.
Coach Clausen is now in the running for the title of the 2025 NFL Don Shula High School Coach of the Year Award, which recognizes the best in coaching at the high school level. Click here to learn more.

Each of the 300 scholars, including Lila, will be awarded $2,000, and the schools they attend will also be awarded $2,000.
Scholars were chosen based on their outstanding research, leadership skills, community involvement, commitment to academics, creativity in asking scientific questions and exceptional promise as STEM leaders demonstrated through the submission of their original, independent research projects, essays and recommendations.
More than 2,600 students applied this year from 826 high schools across 46 states, Washington, D.C., Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and 16 countries. Up next in the Talent Search Competition? The Top 40 Finalists will be announced on January 21st. Click here to learn more.
