A Message from our Multilingual Specialist, Mrs. Lira

This week, we hosted our first Dual Language (DL) showcase. Students and their families enjoyed the accomplishments of students from kindergarten through fourth grade. After the showcase, families visited various DL classrooms. It was a wonderful evening where the DL community celebrated bilingualism, social-cultural competence, and the academic growth of our students! We want to thank all the DL ambassadors, teachers, and volunteers who helped make this event successful!

We also had our DL interest night, where the next kindergarteners participated in a Spanish lesson with our excellent DL teachers. If you know families with upcoming kindergarteners, please let them know that our DL application is open for the 2025-2026 school year.

Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey

As part of our commitment to providing a high level of service to our families and community, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education. Your feedback will help us determine what is working well at Hawks View and areas for improvement. To maintain confidentiality, Studer Education will manage the data collection and aggregate the data to provide results to Hawks View and District Leadership.

This survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will remain open until April 21st. Your feedback matters and your time is appreciated!

1st Grade Hearing Screenings Friday, April 11th

We will be giving a free hearing screening to all first grade students tomorrow, April 11, 2025. Results of the screening will be sent home to you in backpack mail and will also go into the student’s file at school. If you do not want your child to have the hearing screening, please contact your school office at 503-825-5400 before 9:00 am to opt out. For more information about the hearing screening, please call Health Services at 503-825-5093.

Dinner Night Out @ Araceli's Cocina, April 15th

We are thrilled to be partnering with Araceli’s Cocina for our April Dinner Night Out! Araceli’s Cocina will donate 20% of all sales from 4-8:00pm to Hawks View Elementary PAC. Online and phone orders are encouraged! No code needed!

'Tis the Season for Spring Field Trips!

It’s time for spring field trips! Every volunteer must have a criminal background check completed each school year. Background checks can take 7-10 business days to process, so please plan ahead. We must have your clearance back before you can volunteer. Call the office at 503-825-5400 if you have any questions, or to check on your clearance.

April 21, 2025, 4 pm to 8 pm. Join us for Make-A-Difference Monday and Bowl with a Cop at Langer's Entertainment. Funds support our Sherwood Police Foundation and in turn supports our Officers and Chaplains.
