NRMS Summer 2025 Reading List

In partnership with our faculty and district town librarians, our Librarian, Ms. Harvey, has put together an awesome reading list for this summer! Students who read at least four books as noted will receive a certificate, a prize, and a celebration in the fall. Please click this link NRMS Reading List to view/print the reading list, as well as the book tracker. Happy reading!

Hello NRMS Families,

Thank you for a wonderful School Year! We truly appreciate our ongoing partnership with families and the community and your continued support.

This summer we encourage all parents/guardians to join is in a community read. The book we would like as many families as possible to read is The Anxious Generation, by Jonathan Haidt. In August we will host a community forum to talk about the book. We encourage you to support your local bookstore and purchase your copy of the book locally. Or, borrow a copy from one of our wonderful public libraries.

Let's work together to limit the access to smart phones, smart watches, and social media for our 11-14 year olds. We can wait until high school for students to begin to have access to these devices and apps.

In August, we will require all 6th grade students to attend one of a series of meetings to review technology use and Chromebook care at the middle school. We will distribute Chromebooks to 6th graders at these meetings. These will also serve as orientation meetings for new students, including all incoming 6th graders, and their families. Stay tuned for dates and times.

We are busy filling open positions and we are nearly fully staffed for the fall. We are also finalizing student schedules. After we publish the final report cards in Aspen, we will be temporarily turning off your access to Aspen while we roll over the system to the 2025-2026 school year. You will not be able to view student schedules until August.

Our front office and main hallway will be under going some cosmetic upgrades this Summer. The carpets will be replaced with a tiled floor. Access to the school will be limited, as these improvements take place and while the Cape Cod Institute courses are in session. Additionally, our office will be closed on Fridays in the summer.

Thanks again for an outstanding year. We can't wait to welcome students back to school in September. First, let's hope for amazing weather and a fun, safe Cape Cod summer.
