Spring Break 2025! Wow! I can't believe that we're at this point in the school year already. We are nearly three-quarters (75%) through the school year.

Seniors, these next few weeks will roll by. Stay focused and finish strong!

Speaking of "rolling," Lars Sarkinen (10) and Renner James (12) are at state competition for SkillsUSA today! Also, our Equestrian team is competing this weekend, as well! Good luck to all of our Hawks!

The School Safety & Security Capital Levy on the April 22 ballot would fund school safety improvements while keeping school tax rates stable. As an existing bond rate drops off, this Safety & Security Capital Levy would take its place with no increase to projected tax rates.

What safety & security improvements would it fund?

• Installing automatic lockdown capabilities at Hockinson Heights Elementary School,

• Securing school entries,

• Adding and improving exterior fencing at HHES,

• Updating campus security systems, including security cameras and public address system at HHES

• Installing emergency messaging systems at all schools.

Graduation is quickly approaching (too quickly)… We have many things to communicate regarding our Seniors so please take a minute to read through this email and continue to keep an eye out as there will be more to come. We are looking for a few things from you!

• Pictures for Senior slide show needed by 3/31– further communication below
• Baccalaureate survey needed. The committee is looking for feedback about what the students would like to see, please use this link to complete the survey: (due by 2/23)

• Chaperones needed for grad night event – if you would like to sign up please email hhsgrads2025@gmail.com with your name, phone number, and email address.
• This will run from the time graduation is over until around 4AM
• Chaperones have a number of duties - including but not limited to - bus check in and out, watching a particular area at the event (rotating positions), clean up at the end of the night, prize hand out, etc. etc. (You do not have to ride the bus)
• Reminder – yearbook pictures are due by 3/1 to the school (just a helpful reminder – this is not affiliated with the grad committee)

SENIOR SLIDE SHOW COMMUNICATION:

Hello families of Seniors,

As we begin this final stretch to graduation, we are in the process of producing the Senior Slideshow. Our goal is to make sure every senior is represented and that the effort of creating the slideshow goes as smoothly as possible. Here is what we need from you.

1. Click the link below.

(You will need a Google account to fill in the form. If you don't have one, you can create one. You can also use the Google account of your senior. If you do not have a Google account and would prefer not to create one, please email us directly and we will do what we can to get the information needed in a different way.)

2. Fill in your senior's preferred first name.

3. Fill in your senior's last name.

4. Upload 3 photos: a young photo, a senior photo and a favorite photo.

5. (optional) Tell us a fun fact or skill your senior has that others may not know about. Be aware, this may be posted on one of their photos in the slideshow.

6. Click submit

That is all we need from you, and we will do the rest!

In order to be included in the slideshow, please complete and submit this form no later than March 31st, 2025. Anything submitted after March 31st may not make it into the slideshow.

A couple weeks ago the HHS Wind Ensemble competed in the Clackamas Band Festival at Clackamas Community College and took home 3rd place in their division and 1st place for their sight-reading! Congratulations!

2nd Place Winners! Congrats to Thilo Kluth (piano) and Sarah Boehi (alto saxophone) for being recognized as outstanding musicians! 2025 Clackamas Jazz Band Festival.
