We are excited to announce that Sarina Baker will be joining Rush Creek Elementary as our new Assistant Principal.

Sarina brings a well-rounded background in education, shaped by her experiences in both public and independent school settings. Most recently, she served as Assistant Principal at Minnehaha Academy Upper School for the past three years. Prior to that, she supported schoolwide instructional leadership and systems as a School Leadership Administrator (TOSA) at Oak Ridge Elementary in District 196. She also spent four years teaching first and second grade at Lucy Laney Community School in Minneapolis Public Schools, where she developed a deep commitment to culturally responsive teaching and strong family partnerships.

We are excited to welcome all students and families back for another great school year! Below you will find some important information regarding the start of school on Tuesday, September 2nd. Please continue to check your email for more information in the Rush Creek Newsletter. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

We invite all families to attend the Rush Creek Open House for the 2025-2026 school year kick-off! Open House is a great time to connect with others in the community and to get excited for the school year! The doors will open at 4:30 PM. Please have students bring their labeled supplies to drop off in their classroom when they meet their teacher. This makes arrival on the first day easier for students. We look forward to seeing everyone at Open House!

All back-to-school forms will be filled out online this year. Forms that are a part of this process include emergency cards, family contact information updates and photo/military denial releases. Complete the necessary steps today by going to the ParentVUE system, which is accessible from the Family Access button on the top right of any district or school website. On-screen prompts will then walk you through the back-to-school forms process.

All back to school forms MUST be completed to access information in ParentVUE.

Your classroom teacher will be visible in ParentVue after 4:30PM on Friday, August 22nd.

All back to school forms MUST be completed to enter ParentVUE to see your student's teacher. ParentVUE will prompt you to do this when you login.

Stay connected with your student's bus via our updated bus tracking app – FirstView 1.0.

This new app replaces the previous system with improved features such as easier navigation, notifications and family/caregiver email alerts. Current users should delete the previous app and download FirstView 1.0 to continue receiving real-time bus information. Refer to the Getting Started guide for first steps once the new app has downloaded onto your device.
