First Day of School, Version 2 - New Students, Same Awesome You
What first impression do you want them to have of you?
How will you get them excited about your class?
For many students, their schedule looks completely different. How do you support them in their adjustment to a new schedule?

This
We know you possess the strength, pedagogy, and fun to make this restart meaningful. Even though you have to do some of the logistical parts of your class, please make the effort to lean more on the social/emotional side of your support of students.
Teacher Support for New Sections

New Attendance Code - Distance Learning Not Engaged
Code 3 (DLN - DL-NotEng) has replaced the A used for when a student was absent from class. Because this is a unique year (hopefully) with alterations for how student engagement is captured.
When should I use this code?
This code should be used similarly to if a student is absent from your class, not submitting work, not participating in classwork, or not responding to questions. Essentially it is the same as being absent, but more reflective of the current reality we are living with.
Please do not hesitate to contact an administrator if you have questions about this new code.
Mental Health Resources for Supporting Students
The infographics below are quick references that can assist you in looking for students that may be in distress. Furthermore, OCDE has many more resources and trainings for those looking for more.
