• A paper copy will need to be returned to the front office before each child can use the walker option. We cannot accept electronic versions of it. You may drop the completed form off at the front office (in the Community building) or send it back to school with your child.
  
  

• You may print the form yourself. But if you need a print version provided for you, please email your child’s homeroom teacher. S/he will then send a print version home with your child.
  
  

• Each child needs their own form; siblings cannot be included on the same form.
  
  

• The form must be signed by both parents/guardians if both parents/guardians are listed in Infinite Campus.
  
  

• Once your form has been processed by school administration, a Walker Placard will be sent home with your child. After you receive it, you are officially permitted to use the walker option during both morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. You’ll need to show your placard to the staff member at the walker gate both in the morning and afternoon.

• Please do not come to the walker door if you do not have the Walker Placard.

• Please see the map as to where the walker door is located. If parents choose to walk to campus, you must use this door (The R building, side that faces Clairmont) to drop off your child for school with the Walker Placard. You may not walk through the parking lot at any point, this would create a very dangerous situation. There is a sidewalk that goes all around the front of the church building that faces the corner of N.Druid Hills and Clairmont. Once you reach the gate at the walker door, there will be a staff member standing there to receive your child. That staff member will be there to open the walker door right at 7:25am. You will show your Placard and walk your student to the gate. The gate will be open starting at 2:45pm for parents to wait just inside the gate for their walker for pick up. Dismissal begins at 2:45pm. There will be a staff member there to take your walker number to input for your student to come to walker pick up.

Safety is paramount
Allowing parents/guardians the choice of letting their children walk to and from school adds a level of convenience for many families that live locally, and it should also provide much needed relief to carpool operations. However, we ask all GLOBE families to please exercise caution when traveling to and from school. Be safe, obey traffic laws, respect our neighbors, and remember CREST!

Remember, you must wait until you receive a 'registered walker placard'. If you were to send in a completed form tomorrow with your child, the earliest you can expect to receive a placard is Friday in your child's backpack.
