Rilke Schule 6th - 8th Grade Volleyball Team Information
Rilke Schule has been approved by the Anchorage School District to have a 6th - 8th grade girls volleyball team!
The season will begin in November and run through December. Frau Adney will serve as head coach and is excited to launch this wonderful new opportunity for Rilke’s middle school girls.
More information about registration, practices, and the season schedule will be shared as we near the time to start practice.
We look forward to cheering on Rilke's Volleyball Team!
Arrival and Dismissal Safety Friendly Reminders
To help ensure everyone’s safety during arrival and dismissal, please observe the following procedures:
- Families parking in the UAA parking lot must supervise and/or escort their students across West Campus Drive. Please look both ways before crossing West Campus Drive.
- Please use the designated crosswalk to access Rilke Schule’s sidewalk. Crossing between lanes of traffic during arrival and dismissal is dangerous and should be avoided.
- Please follow all directions provided by Rilke Schule arrival and dismissal staff.
- Rilke is currently working on obtaining traffic signs to assist with arrival and dismissal procedures.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our students, families, and staff safe.

The deadline for submission is September 11, 2026.
There will be a box by the office to deposit the design or you can email the design to Frau Squier at squier_elaine@asdk12.org.
For any questions, please email Frau Squier at squier_elaine@asdk12.org
Rilke Garden Volunteer Help
Rilke is seeking volunteers to help prepare our garden beds for winter! Please bring your garden tools and help with weeding, clearing out beds, and other general garden-care tasks. This is a triple volunteer hours opportunity, and your help will ensure the beds are ready for spring planting. Thank you for supporting Rilke's gardens!

Kiss and Goodbye Arrival Process
Please give your child a warm and loving goodbye at the designated drop-off area. A staff member will come to the line starting around 8:00 am - 8:05 am to help them enter the school safely. Parents and guardians are also welcome to wait in line with their child(ren) until the teacher arrives to escort the class into the building.
This routine helps children build confidence and independence while supporting a safe and smooth arrival for everyone. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we make this transition together!
Friendly Reminder - Parent Communication and After School Bus Services
If your student(s) will not be attending Anchorage Gymnastics, CHAMPS or Starbright on any given day, please email the front office at inforilke@asdk12.org and inform the after-school organization of the student(s) absence.

Substitute Teachers
- We are in need of substitute teachers for this school year. Substitutes play a very important role to ensure a great learning environment while the classroom teacher is out. If you are interested, please click on the link: https://www.applitrack.com/asd/onlineapp/default.aspx?Category=Substitutes
Activity and Supply Fees
- Rilke operates on a tight budget as a charter school. This leaves little, if anything, for school supplies or activities which is why the activity and supply fees are so important to provide the school with the materials needed to foster an enriching learning environment. With that in mind, the activity and supply fees are set and Rilke is able to receive fees. Log into your parent Q connect portal to make an on-line payment: https://parentconnect.asdk12.org/
- Activity Fee: $125 - The activity fees pay for field trips, guest speakers, buses, and other special class activities.
- Supply Fee: $100 - The supply fees pay for classroom supplies like colored paper, paper, glue, pencils, scissors, folders, containers, and other materials for instruction. It also covers teacher supplies like paper, post-its, expo markers, paper towels, tissues, pens, and other supplies needed for instruction. Lastly, the supply fees are used for school wide supplies for art, P.E., music, and copy paper.
- School Supplies - Students are still responsible for backpacks, binders (5th - 8th grade), lunch packs, and other personal items that go back and forth between home and school. Thank you for your support, we could not provide an engaging learning environment without your help.
